Salary: £35,784 – £38,422

To provide legal and procedural advice and legal services in respect of all the Councils functions as directed by the appropriate Group Solicitor in the most cost effective and efficient way to secure Best Value for the Authority.

To work within the Social Care and Education service area in Legal Services.

Experience and 

Knowledge

Experience of conducting Child Care Cases    Experience of litigation generally

Experience of  Social Services Law Advocacy Advising Clients

All preferably acquired in local government or similar environment Application Form and interview.

Skills and Abilities

            Advocacy, negotiation, communication, analytical, drafting and presentational

skills 

Reliable and able to work on own initiative and under pressure.

Able to organise own workload and work with minimum supervision. 

Ability to give clear and accurate legal advice.

Commitment to developing

expertise in new specialisms as well as maintaining and practising regularly existing advocacy skills. 

Negotiation, communication, drafting and presentational skills.

            Knowledge and use of IT.

Ability to co-ordinate the work of others e.g. experts to ensure compliance with strict timescales.  Ability to anticipate and identify problems and recommend solutions to management on a timely basis.
