Havering Access Team is a front door (fast paced) service which accepts and receives referrals on a daily basis. The team manages urgent or immediate as well as short-term referrals.

The team is a multi-disciplinary team which includes senior staff, contact workers (who takes the referrals); Occupational therapists and occupational therapy assistants, care assessors, social workers.

Qualifications/Experience 

  • ·  GCSE English & Maths or equivalent level of competency. 
  • ·  Experience of completing assessments and/or reviews. 
  • ·  Experience of working with adults/older people/people with a physical or learning disability and their carers in a community or hospital setting. 

· Experience of multi-disciplinary team work.
· Experience of preparing needs-led assessments/reassessments and support plans. 

· Experience of using IT systems.
· Some knowledge and experience of moving and handling legislation and practice 

Candidate requirements:

1. . Knowledge of social care practice and legislations (e.g. Care Act 2014, Equality legislations, Mental health Act, safeguarding and making safeguarding personal, GDPR and Data Protection policies 

2. Good communication/assessment and written skills

3. Ability to prioritise case load and ability to work in a fast paced team 

4. Experience ( preferable but not essential) of using social care database (Liquid Logic)

5. Car driver preferred 

6. Experience working in Adult social services

Havering provides laptop device with opportunities to smart work across various locations. Staff are expected to come into the office at least x2 a week to support with duty functions. Mandatory training is provided for all staff Monthly supervision and also informal supervision/discussion as and when needed.
