Haringey Works is the Local Authority’s employment support service. This ESF funded Employer Engagement Officer role will sit in the Haringey Works Team.
Role Purpose
- Being proactive in generating new business leads, responding to enquiries and managing relationships with existing employers and the Livery companies.
- Achieving allocated targets for employer provision including sourcing and matching opportunities.
- Working closely with the Employment Case Workers to ensure work and learning opportunities are suitably matched with learners
- Collaborating within a team to provide screening and assessment of applicants, shortlisting, arranging interviews, follow-up and evaluation to both employers and learners.
- Conducting employer needs analysis, and subsequently developing training plans for employers and produce proposals.
- Obtaining feedback on clients’ unsuccessful interviews in a sensitive and diplomatic way and incorporate feedback into planning training/upskilling and associated solutions to support the clients continued development.
- Being the main point of contact with the employers and the Livery companies, including identifying needs and requirements, providing advice and guidance and matching suitable candidates to existing vacancies and placements.
- Acting as a broker on behalf of employers and work closely with the Employment Advisors and external delivery partners to ensure the development and delivery of appropriate training packages to meet employers’ needs.
- Carrying out Apprenticeship vacancy matching and the promotion of Apprenticeships to young people.
- Recording and inputting employer-related activity onto the Connecting Communities’ system and proactively use the system to maximise opportunities with employers
- Helping participants secure good quality employment through comprehensive and connected management that removes barriers and promotes social mobility.
- Working closely in collaboration with a range of partners including the Livery Companies and Guilds, businesses, education and training providers, schools, and others to generate effective networks and joined-up approaches to promote lifelong learning.
- Working with a degree of independence without the need for close supervision, whilst recognising when and how to collaborate with a range of sources. Use supervision to identify strategies to build professional resilience and balance the potential for bias in decision-making.
- Working purposefully with others to form networks and hubs to boost a more joined-up approach to employment service delivery
Using data effectively and efficiently from a range of sources to produce reports and provide evidence and to ensure data is maintained in accordance with data protection legislation and good practice
Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Professional Employment Qualification in the areas of social service, employment, education, or instructions settings or experience.
Strong time management and organisational skills and the capacity to work flexibly and with initiative in an innovative, fast-paced, and dynamic work environment.
Effective oral communication skills with stakeholders of all levels, including senior stakeholders, people of influence and young people.
Excellent networking skills.
Able to effectively maintain and use data and evidence to inform decision making and next practice approaches, including research and data analysis and evaluation skills.
To work with integrity, creativity, and resilience to deliver programmes that are engaging and have high level impact.
Experience
2 years post qualifying experience.
Experience of contribution to the development and delivery of an Employer Engagement strategy to meet the progression needs of young people and adults in an employability training environment
Knowledge of employment funding, government schemes, statutory and other guidance
Knowledge of roles and responsibilities of key employability providers and agencies
Experience of delivering high impact and innovative programmes of employability
