This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to join the Construction, Maintenance and Facilities Management (CMFM) department within the Place Directorate of Enfield Council; a directorate with wide ranging responsibilities for a £1bn+ portfolio of assets, including commercial, industrial, retail, office, cultural and leisure, plus significant future development and regeneration opportunities.
The newly created post of FM Security Manager will be responsible for all aspects of building security across the Council’s corporate estate, including the Council’s headquarters at The Civic Centre and its various hub offices which together provide modern office accommodation to over 3000 employees. You will be assisted by a team of security officers and will have an annual revenue budget of £800k under your direct control.
To succeed in this role, you will have a professional qualification or degree in Security and / or Risk Management or the equivalent through training and experience (e.g. Police Force, Emergency Services) and be flexible and adept at responding quickly to the changing needs of our critical front-line public services.

Job Specifics – Skills, Experience, Knowledge & Abilities

Essential:

  1. Proven experience to lead, engage, motivate, appraise and develop staff to deliver high standards of service and performance
  2. Experience of effective budget management and deliver services plans on time and on budget
  3. A track record of delivering security improvements to systems and personnel as well as implementing changes in policies and practice across the organisation
  4. Demonstrable knowledge of the Private Security Industry Act 2001 and its practical implications for client organisations and commercial landlords
  5. Ability to work across the organisation to achieve service objectives within a performance management framework
  6. Effective management of change and supporting teams to deliver results during periods of change
  7. Should have a Security qualification or equivalent experience
  8. As a regular and intrinsic part of this role required you to speak to members of the public in English, the ability to converse at ease, politely and courteously with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential and consistent with the requirements of this role.
  9. Within a reasonable commuting distance of the office as Incident and Emergency cover is required in the event of a critical incident

  1. Working in a complex large-scale matrix organisation
  2. Knowledge of Public Sector work structures and relationships
  3. Flexibility with working hours

Qualifications & Professional registration criteria
