Afternoon 4pm until 5.30 pm
Monday to Saturday
Opening/Closing shifts, Alarms, basic upkeep
Based at Scarborough indoor market
There is parking space in morning
There is on street parking in the afternoon
Job Purpose:

1. Opening and closing of the Market Hall including setting of the Alarm system.
2. Undertaking the cleaning duties involved in the upkeep of the Market Hall, including general inspections and state of repair reports.
3. Deputising for the Market Assistant on urgent matters (in their absence).
4. Communicate clearly with market traders on issues arising
5. Minor maintenance works as and when required.
6. To assist with the implementation of security procedures and practices within the Market Hall.
7. Assist in the event of emergency evacuation (fire etc).
8. Provide assistance to the market supervisor as and when required.
9. Have a good working relationship with colleagues and market traders
10. Any other duties as assigned by the market superintendent in consultation with the Postholder.

Knowledge and Experience

Ability to communicate clearly with council employees, market traders and members of the public
