MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
- Help improve the outcome and experience of people affected by cancer (PABC) living in Tower Hamlets through enabling the integration of services designed to meet their holistic, health, wellbeing and psychosocial needs.
- Coordinate and manage work-streams, including communication and engagement activities, and specific projects associated with the Tower Hamlets – Macmillan Local Authority Partnership Programme (THMLAPP) also known as Tower Hamlets Living with Cancer Programme.
- Scope out and extend the THMLAPP model of service improvement and transformation to other boroughs in North East London (NEL) as part of the North East London Cancer Alliance’s (NELCA) programme of work
- Support any future development of a similar approach for patient groups living with a range of long-term conditions, particularly those previously considered severely life-limiting at diagnosis, such as HIV.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Contributing to reporting and evaluation

• Managing of budgets and resources
• Designing the programme through co-production with all stakeholders including PABC
• Engaging in consultation around new proposed models
• Supporting the commissioning and delivery of any new proposed service
The post holder will work within the parameters of the Logic Model developed with stakeholders to both plan and evaluate the programme. The model describes in summary form the relationship between the outcomes that the programme is seeking to achieve, and the inputs (interventions and resources) needed to make changes, whilst setting out the context in which the programme sits, and assumptions relating to it.
Objectives of the role
- Providing business support and coordination function for the programme
- Supporting the administration of the schedule of Programme Board meetings and Partnership meetings, including minute taking, monitoring action log, coordinating attendees, speakers, and collating papers and agenda items
- Overseeing different workstreams and liaising with stakeholders and delivery partners
- Developing and implementing the communications and engagement plan
- Managing the network of people affected by cancer involved in co-production work
- Supporting set up, delivery and evaluation of the Community of Practice
- Supporting the delivery of the two new grant funded services (Take home and settle service and Macmillan Cancer Care Navigator service)
- Assisting with producing regular reports and presentations for partners and stakeholders, including a number of internal and external boards and committees
- Hosting and coordinating engagement, consultation and or co-design events with stakeholders
- Planning and co-facilitation of training sessions
- Supporting the monitoring and evaluation activities including collating reports from data provided and pulling together case studies
- Managing budget related activities including:
o ensuring payments are made to service providers on a monthly and quarterly basis
o gathering and recording evidence of activity
o tracking and reconciling expenditure
o raising and processing invoices and purchase orders
o completing end of year financial activities - Working closely with communication and finance leads from partner organisations
- Maintaining effective working relationships with teams, organisations and networks within and external to the council and across neighbouring boroughs.
- Supporting the development and mapping of a diverse stakeholder group and help influence their intentions and decisions
- Enabling the development of a similar programme of work across NEL in partnership with NELCA
