The SEND Advanced Practitioner is about promoting, monitoring and developing quality assurance practice within SEND
• They should have, or be willing to develop, specialist knowledge of SEND practice, which can be used across Children and Adult services and with our health colleagues.
• They will also represent the service in developing key service provision/local strategic initiatives to ensure joined up working and outputs across the Local Area.
• They will support colleagues in the SEND service and across all partners to undertake joint audits for improved outcomes and life chances for SEND children, young people and young adults, parents and carers who use the service.
• To support SEND Management Team in working alongside parent groups, young people’s participation groups and any other relevant stakeholder group.

Experience
Significant experience of Advanced Practitioner delivery in special educational needs services for children and young people.
Experience of implementing continual improvement in the quality assurance of SEND practices.
Significant experience of contributing to the delivery of high quality services for children and young people and/or adults with disabilities, and/or special educational needs.
Evidence of successful integrated working with colleagues across service and partner agencies to promote the best interests of children and young people and/or adults with disabilities, and/or special educational needs.
Experience of being involved in monitoring services and implementing action plans following audit and inspection.
Experience of engaging people who use services and using their feedback to improve service provision.
Experience in children and / or adults safeguarding.
Involvement in the monitoring and evaluating of outcomes for groups of children with a wide range of additional needs in a wide range of educational settings.
Experience of designing and delivering guidance materials, and briefings aimed at a wide range of staff, partners and parent/carers
Experience of evaluating the impact of specific interventions for children and young people with SEND.

Qualifications/Training
Appropriate professional qualification or related level 4 qualification (DipSW, Degree, CQSW or Educational equivalent).
Knowledge of current SEND research and evidence to inform practice.
