About the role
This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced Senior Business Analyst (BA) to join Haringey Council’s Digital Together Programme.
The Digital Together Programme is designed to improve our digital processes and maximise digital technology and to ensure Haringey is an innovative and forward-looking Council. In doing so we plan to realise cost saving benefit in line with our MTFS (Medium Term Financial Strategy).
Working with the Digital Together Programme Manager and transformation team, you will conduct investigative work to identify service opportunities; and specify effective business solutions; including improvements in information systems, data management, processes, and organisations.
Joining a team of dedicated project and change management professionals passionate about their roles on transforming the council. We work collaboratively in a fast paced and inclusive environment.
About you
You will already be experienced in working on projects solving complex business problems, ideally working with different methodologies such as Waterfall and Agile. You will have built up good experience and sound knowledge of a range of business functions and processes that help to inform your work, balancing technical versus business considerations.
You will be skilled in using appropriate tools to apply a wide range of business/process/data modelling and analytical techniques within an organisation.
You will work with a variety of systems and processes so experience of customer facing and/or back office functions would be helpful.
You will have good relationship management skills and be able to work with a diverse range of stakeholders and perspectives in different business contexts.
You will be a well organised, self-starter, who is able to be flexible in how they approach their business analysis and project duties.
Qualifications
Ideally educated to A level or equivalent standard or holds a relevant professional qualification
Technical Experience / Skills / Knowledge /Attributes
Demonstrates an understanding of current developments in the application of Information Systems and is able to assimilate and interpret advice from specialists – technical or otherwise.
Proficient in understanding and applying iterative methods and techniques to allocate and optimise the division of functions between the human, machine and organisational elements of IT systems. Systematic and iterative design of the physical and cognitive interfaces to create an effective user experience in a software system, with attention paid to variety of locations and access devices employed by users.
Proficient in software tools which automate or assist part of the development process.
Proficient in understanding and applying organised and documented sets of techniques, and proven methods, intended to facilitate the structured and open development of applications.
Proficient in understanding software which enables the user to create, populate and manipulate data structures.
Proficient in the digital development techniques and methods required to deliver modern, high quality user interfaces and interactions.
Proficient in techniques which help in modelling and understanding a business and its operation.
Proficient with applying methods and techniques for structured reviews, including reviews of technical work products, test plans, business cases, architectures and any other key deliverables. Examples: peer review, formal technical review.
Proficient with establishing relationships, analysing perspectives and managing stakeholders from a variety of backgrounds and disciplines. Adapting stakeholder engagement style to meet the needs of different audiences. The identification of key business stakeholders and an assessment of their level of power and interests, and their perspectives to inform the way(s) in which they should be considered and managed.
Able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and willing to assist others in delivering transformation.
Has a flexible approach, is willing to contribute to finding solutions and to “chip in” to get the job done.
Self-motivated and able to work independently using their own initiative, with minimal supervision but seek guidance when needed.
Works well under pressure and able to work to tight deadlines.
Can follow instructions and produce high quality outputs, seeking guidance when unsure.
Has good analytical ability
Excellent written and oral communications skills.
