You will be leading and managing a team to achieve better outcomes for children, young people and their families through the delivery of high quality services. Strategically developing the service to meet specific legislation, regulations, inspection requirements and other local targets.

This is a tremendously important role, as you will drive the overall operational management responsibility for the day to day running of Luton Borough Council’s Children Service’s to ensure excellent practice across the team that make up the service.
About you

You will be an experienced social worker with strong communications skills. You will lead and manage an experienced team of managers, practitioners, professionals aimed at supporting the best possible outcomes for children and young people. You will be able to build effective relationships with children and families, staff, public and other professionals.

You should have in-depth knowledge of legislation national guidance and best practice relevant to the post including statutory responsibilities relating to Children and Family Services, including appropriate quality standards and you’ll be part of a team that achieve high levels of performance.

We do ask that you have Dip SW, CQSW or recognised equivalent, substantial professional social work qualification and registered by the Social Work England.
