Description
Interprets the Council’s HR Policy & Procedures, ensure that they are well communicated and provide advice to stakeholders appropriate to the situation
Develops HR colleagues and Line Managers
Applies relevant and up to date UK employment law knowledge to Council activities
Ensures all required legal measures are taken across the people agenda
Facilitates potential conflict situations (in a legally compliant way)

Candidates will be on duty one week in six, candidates must come into the office for duty week and be on standby to support as and when required. Child Protection cases require face to face visits , the remaining cases are risk assessed adn RAG rated. There is some working from home and some office work required. The candidate must be willing to come in and perform front line duties.

Job Purpose

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

You will be able to evidence your continuing professional development with knowledge in the relevant professional area and you will be expected to adhere to and complete the administration module of the CIPFA knowledge and skills framework.
You must be a good communicator with the ability to simplify regulations and legislation to our various stakeholders and be able to understand various financial calculations and pension procedures.
You will possess a variety of skills such as reliability and enthusiasm whilst remaining motivated and positive; all of which help deliver a quality service and promote a hard-working and professional environment.
Some knowledge and experience of using Universal Pension Management System (UPM) will be advantageous but is not essential however, experience and knowledge in Windows based programmes is desirable.

To set up and maintain systems and processes to enable the smooth running of
