This is an exciting time to join Essex Educational Psychology Service (EPS). A new role of SEND Inclusion and Psychology Lead has been established in each quadrant following our redesign. In brief:

This is part of the Lead Local Flood Authority’s statutory consultee role for major planning applications.

The role is required to work across and understand the policies/processes in highways, water companies and the Environment Agency, maintaining knowledge of recent developments in the field of SuDS including flood risk, water quality, biodiversity, viability, water supply, construction and building regulations. Knowledge and understanding of drainage design and analysis software systems is key to success in this role.

Role Responsibilities:

Responsible for responding to major planning application consultations and chargeable pre-application enquiries within required timescales, updating the applications database/case management system.

Claims Handler , to handle claims against the Council

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

1. Certificate in insurance from the Chartered Insurance Institute or equivalent qualification in a related field (e.g. Law).

Experience of claims management in the public sector.

IT literate and keyboard skills with experience of using, Word, Excel and claims
database software packages.

Good organisational skills and be capable of achieving agreed deadlines and targets, whilst staying motivated and focused.

Good verbal and written communication skills, able to demonstrate tact and diplomacy.

Able to write, clear, concise reports.

Ability to bring creative solutions to problems.

Able to establish positive working relationships, and work closely with Council officers, external agencies and individuals.
