MAIN PURPOSE:
To undertake (on and off the job) training to investigate, assess and advise customers under a statutory duty, in line with Housing Act 1996 (Part VI and Part VII), as amended by the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017, Homeless Code of Guidance and all other relevant and/or associated legislation.
Provide advice, information, and support to vulnerable residents, who approach the Council’s Housing Options and Support Service in need of help and support with their housing, assisting to prevent or relieve their homelessness and sustaining tenancies.
To work collaboratively with other housing teams and Council departments, Local Authorities colleagues, Registered Providers, and external partners to achieve the best outcomes for customers and to meet Service objectives and performance indicators.
Provide an excellent resettlement support service for vulnerable people showing care and compassion, finding solutions to their housing needs, through holistic, fair, and accessible service delivery.
The role will be:
• Based at the Bromley Civic Centre, Stockwell Close, Bromley, Kent
• Monday to Friday, 9.00am – 5.00pm (36 hours)
• 4th July 2022 – 30th September 2022 (minimum of 8 weeks within this period)
• £12.32 per hour
The successful candidates will be offered basic training:
• In the Homelessness legislation

Child Protection Conferences Minute Taker – Full Time Mon-Fri 5 days /37 hrs
The main duties will include supporting the admin team with Child Protection Conferences minute taking, preparing email info packs to send out before the Conferences, sending out the minutes after the Conferences, logging data in the trackers for Conferences, sending out relevant email communications with the social workers and Child Protection Conference Chairs, sending out email invitations to Teams meetings, setting out and booking in Conferences in Outlook/ Teams. The role involves working on a rota along with the rest of the team, Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am- 6pm.

The start date would be ASAP after the 24th May for at least 3 months, as a review of the post is expected to occur.
Flexible work location within West Sussex, currently home based, but may move back to office based in the future.
You will be responsible for identifying any deficiencies in crewing and resourcing those deficiencies to ensure the Service maintains the required crewing levels. You will also be responsible for ensuring that the Incident Command Officer rota is covered appropriately.
Required Skills & Qualifications Key Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to understand and confidently communicate both verbally and in writing to provide clear advice and specialist guidance to a range of stakeholders.
- Good written communication skills are required in order to be able to present information clearly, concisely and accurately and in ways to promote understanding with minimal guidance.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, partners and members of the public.
- Ability to prioritise tasks based on service requirements and managing conflicting workload pressures.
- Good working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint (or equivalent packages) for the integral use of word processing, data processing, report writing , maintaining computer databases and producing statistical data at a high level.
Qualifications:
⦁ 4 GCSE A-C passes including English & Maths (or equivalent).
⦁ Experience of working within a customer orientated environment and providing an efficient administrative service.
⦁ Previous experience of analysing information and providing solutions where required.
⦁ An understanding or previous experience of working rota systems. (desirable).

The Community Hub has been designed to provide a function that helps to keep
residents safe during the COVID19 crisis by meeting their urgent and ongoing
need. The Community Hub front door is delivered by the Customer Experience
Service where we help customers understand the support that is available to
them, helping them to remain self-sufficient, but recognising ‘need’. The
Community Hub manages inbound calls from residents and makes outbound
calls supporting Central Government.
The role is responsible for providing a transactional front-line service direct to
customers, providing solutions to queries and issues raised, for example,
answering customer enquires through phone, email, letter, and social media and
making outbound calls. The focus of this role is to deliver a truly customerfocused service which delivers ‘Customer Excellence’ standards consistently and supports the residents of West Sussex.

Key Skills:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, to be able to articulate to customers often technical information in a way which is meaningful.
- Influencing skills to be able to persuade colleagues to draft responses to letters and provide information on progress.
- Able to prioritise between competing demands and remain calm when dealing with irate or unhappy customers.
- Proficient IT skills in several specialist systems, plus the full range of Microsoft.
Qualifications and/or experience:
⦁ Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent qualifications or comparable experience.
⦁ Experience of working in a customer service role, providing information, resolving queries and prioritising calls.
⦁ Experience of use of relevant software, including social media and systems, to support service delivery.
⦁ Knowledge of the processes involved in the work of prevention and COVID19, to be able to explain to customers what stage a piece of work is at, how it will progress, etc.
