To work as a member of the Access to Resource Team, the Children’s Placements Officer/Service Co-ordinator will co-ordinate and manage all placement requests for Looked After Children (LAC) including those with multiple and complex needs liaising with SEND for children with special educational needs.
The post holder will ensure that placement sourcing is undertaken on the basis that it has been appropriately approved, meets the child’s needs and expected outcomes, is cost effective, is within or as close to the borough as possible and is completed in a timely manner. The post holder will ensure Individual Placement Agreements are correctly populated and updated in line with care reviews, provide out of borough notifications and ensure effective record keeping of placements.

Child Protection Conferences Minute Taker – Full Time Mon-Fri 5 days /37 hrs
The main duties will include supporting the admin team with Child Protection Conferences minute taking, preparing email info packs to send out before the Conferences, sending out the minutes after the Conferences, logging data in the trackers for Conferences, sending out relevant email communications with the social workers and Child Protection Conference Chairs, sending out email invitations to Teams meetings, setting out and booking in Conferences in Outlook/ Teams. The role will require confident use of Word, Excel, Outlook and fast and accurate typing and minute taking. The Child Protection Safeguarding Conferences are complex meetings with many participants and the discussions will involve child safety and safeguarding so it can be intense and will need a certain level of emotional resilience.

The role involves working on a rota along with the rest of the team, Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am- 6pm.

The post is based within the Mayor’s Office, in the Old Palace.
The role has a high level of customer contact that includes face to face, telephone and email, and involves liaison with elected members and senior officers within the Council, other Mayors’ offices and the general public. The duties of this role include preparing the weekly Business Sheet, collating the appropriate documents and making the necessary travel arrangements. Supporting the various Civic and Charity events, including issuing invitations, recording acceptances etc.
We are looking for an Administrative Assistant who has experience in working in a busy office environment. Attention to detail and accuracy is key for this post. You will need to be highly organised, have good customer services skills, be proficient in using Microsoft Office package. Good written and oral communication skills and a good team player are important in order to be successful in this role.
SKILLS & ABILITIES

KNOWLEDGE
An awareness/ understanding of the role of the Mayor would be helpful.
EXPERIENCE
Basic administration including maintaining records, organising diaries, preparing standard letters.
Good use of Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Be prepared to work flexibly and adapt to changing demands of the service.
Willingness and ability to work flexible hours to meet the service requirements, which would include weekend working.
Must be able to work on own initiative and as part of a team and be able to prioritise and work unsupervised.
Must be able to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion, tact and diplomacy when dealing with confidential and sensitive issues.
