BASIC OBJECTIVES OF THE JOB:
ImageTo deal with customer enquiries for Adult Social Services in an efficient , effective, sensitive and courteous manner, in accordance with the Council’s Equalities policy.

  1. To deliver an information and advice, signposting, referral and contact pathway for younger and older people, adults with a physical or learning disability and for Occupational Therapists.
  2. Screen all contacts for entitlement to services and where appropriate arrange provision and services.
  3. To deal with enquiries and give general advice on universal preventative services and a whole range of Health, Social Care and voluntary sector services and activities, especially where customers are not eligible for commissioned services.
  4. To efficiently operate a number of IT and telephony systems necessary to carry out the duties of the post, including service-based systems such as Framework-I, the customer tracking system, telephone ACD system and any other information databases such as the Advice and Information Directory service as required.

EXPERIENCE
Experience of working directly with the public in an advisory or information giving capacity.
And/or experience of working in an administrative capacity in a social services section providing service to the public


KNOWLEDGE
Understanding and awareness of issues relating to local authority departmental services
