This role is currently home-based during current lock down restrictions
Personal profile of Social Worker – Children and Families team
• As an experienced social worker, you will undertake statutory duties under the Children Act 1989 and other legislation and guidance relating to service users and
• You will be expected to be able to cover for your line manager on occasion and to also to cover for other social workers within your team if required.
• You will be committed to working in a strength based, outcome focused way and to making a difference to the lives of the individuals and families which you work with.
• Candidates must have post qualification experience along with a good knowledge of relevant legislation and local authority responsibilities in the safeguarding of vulnerable adults.
Key skills and experience
• Able to undertake statutory duties under the Children Act 1989
• Ability to manage crisis intervention and adhere to health and safety policies.
• Understanding of equality issues.
• Substantial knowledge of legislation and statutory responsibilities relating to Children and Family services including appropriate Quality Standards.
• Knowledge and understanding of child development and issues of family dynamics.
Qualifications
You will have either Dip SW, CQSW or recognised equivalent professional qualification. Or registered by the health can care professional’s council.
An enhanced DBS Certificate which is satisfactory to Luton Borough Council will be a condition of your appointment.
