MAIN DUTIES:

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
The post holder will require excellent personal and social skills, communications skills and an ability to work with confidence across designated curriculum areas. They must be prepared to attend in service training and keep up to date with development in the field. To work across a defined geographical area, sometimes under pressure, to be flexible and motivational in their approach to enthuse learners.
The post holder will have an advanced level of specialist knowledge, expertise and skills relating to education. Not only will they have a significant input into how the work is undertaken but will have significant control over how the work is delivered.
It is desirable that the post holder has experience or delivering online/distance learning or is willing to learn.
Much of this will be based on experience of working in the Lifelong Learning Sector. In addition the post holder will be educated to degree level or vocational equivalent, have an approved teaching qualification, minimum
Level 3, and appropriate subject specialism where required, and have at least 3 years experience within the Sector.
The post holder will be able to work on their own initiative and deliver high quality learning programmes to the requirements of Ofsted’s Education Inspection Framework.
As the Adult Skills and Family Learning Service, we deliver a range of Family Learning sessions to parents and children across Lincolnshire. We are looking for a qualified tutor/teacher (minimal level 3 teaching certificate) who can be flexible with their hours. The delivery consists of structured Family Learning sessions to schools and other community venues. The areas we are looking for cover is Lincoln, Gainsborough and Horncastle. Many of our courses run over a six week period, usually 1 or days a week. each session is approx 2 hours and we pay additional prep and planning that adds on the additional hours. Tutors are responsible for adult learners age 19+ with the school being responsible for the child element of the session. Working days tend to be between Tuesday – Friday depending on the needs of the school. We are always looking for tutors who have experience and flexibility. We are currently planning for the new academic year beginning in Sept. Tutors need to undergo mandatory training and induction, and therefore we are looking to start to interview any interested candidates from July onwards. Duties and responsibilities

Social Care Worker
1. To support the delivery of agreed plans of care ensuring that service users are supported safely and individual needs and service targets are met. The quality and standard of care must meet CQC fundamental standards.
2. To support clients with their personal care as determined within their individual care plan. Personal care can include supporting service users undertake activities such as dressing, washing, bathing or shaving, toileting, getting in or out of bed, eating, drinking, taking medication and communicating.
3. As such they will contribute to the planning of daily activities and risk assessments.
6. Postholders will attend and contribute positively to meetings as requested by the manager providing input by sharing the outcome of interactions with service users and highlighting issues that may have an impact on the review of the service user’s case.
7. To ensure the accurate administration and recording of medication, including rescue medication, in line with the Councils Medication policy. Postholders will need to ensure that agreed protocols are followed when supporting an individual’s personal care such as peg feeding, postural care, changing stoma bags, buccal suction, medication via a peg etc.
8. Postholders are expected to ensure all records are updated and accurate. This includes ensuring appropriate information security protocols are applied when sharing and preparing information relevant to the service user’s care. Records include care plans, risk assessments, work related logs and other template based documents.
9. As postholders will be have direct contact with a range of people involved in care delivery; service users, families, care/medical professionals, other colleagues etc, they must ensure they act and communicate professionally and appropriately at all times.

To work in partnership with health and social care colleagues to deliver the requirements of the provider plan and ensure the health, safety and well-being of the customer and others involved in their care.
Act as an impartial professional point of contact for other professionals, family members and carers, and be able to understand and interpret information and feed this back to senior members and/or seek support.
Work with the customers to provide a safe environment and be conscious of the need for safety and take appropriate action as required under Health and Safety legislation, including the day to day monitoring of equipment, e.g. hoists, and report concerns.
Responsible for regularly handling, processing and storing confidential information relating to customers and/or care of the personal possessions of others.
Undertake light domestic duties as required to ensure cleanliness, comfort and safety for customers throughout the day e.g. laundry, or safely cleaning an area after a customer has been incontinent.

Remain up to date and compliant with all relevant legislation, organisational procedures, policies and professional codes of conduct in order to uphold standards of best practice.
Level of Knowledge
Basic literacy and numeracy skills in order to record and document activities in the provider plans.
Basic understanding of the needs of the customer and their rights as an individual.
Knowledge of Health and Safety practice, First Aid and Fire procedure, Manual Handling. Desirable
Qualifications and Professional Membership
NVQ 2 in Care or equivalent qualification. Desirable
Experience
Demonstrable successful experience of working as part of a team.
Previous experience of working in a care setting and with people who have a
disability or vulnerable customers. Desirable
