Additional Information
You will be required to work some out of office hours including evenings/weekends and less often bank holidays, and participate in a 7-day on call’ rota system including attending where court cover may be required or where issues of safeguarding and/or risk of harm to the public occur (on average approximately 1 weekend in four).
A normal office environment, although travel throughout the Borough, Bedfordshire and the eastern region on a regular basis is expected. Some travel around the eastern region of England and to London and other areas of the country from time to time.

The role of the Information Cyber Security Manager is to lead and manage IT cyber security risks and to act as the responsible officer for IT cyber risk management and responding to audits.
The Information Cyber Security Manager will need to lead and provide expert advice on the selection, design, justification, implementation and operation of information security controls and management strategies to maintain the confidentiality, integrity, availability, accountability and relevant compliance of information systems.
The Information Cyber Security Manager should inspire creativity and flexibility in the management and application of information management and IT, supporting the Council’s ambitions to be a more agile and flexible organisation with respect to workforce management.
The Information Cyber Security Manager should provide effective management that will contribute to the continuous improvement of the Councils’, actively contributing to council-wide and departmental initiatives to meet corporate objectives and user needs.
Leads, promotes and assists in the implementation, where practicable, of procedures designed to attain compliance of the ISO27001 (BS7799), ISO20000 (ITIL) and other relevant ICT standards. This will involve establishing security processes that can ensure compliance and accreditation with ICT security best practice.
Information security qualification, for example, Post Graduate Certificate/Diploma in Information Security, CISMP or CISSP. A SSCP, PCI-DSS, Cyber Essentials Plus or CAP with equivalent demonstrable experience.
