Main Purpose
To provide general administrative and clerical support to the section, and to undertake duties as allocated by the Business Manager from time to time.
Principle Accountabilities
- To assist in establishing, maintaining, operating and developing administration systems
2 To operate and maintain electronic and manual systems to provide detailed and accurate information for the business of the Section - To deal with customers inquiries and requests for information in relation to the business of the Section
- To draft and issue standard legal documents and assist in the preparation of documents for Court eg. bundles, lists of documents.
- To provide an administrative and clerical support for atl fee earners and managers in the section.
- To issue standard legal documents within the time limits required and to assist in the preparation of legal documents for court.
- To ensure that a high response rate to the telephones is maintained and to deal with telephone enquiries effectively. To maintain stationery and to ensure the collection and distributing of the Post, DX and Faxes, Reports and Minutes

Under the direction of the Performance and Information Manager you work across the Council’s Adult and Children’s social care and Education teams to improve the reporting and information recording capabilities of the Department.
You will be working closely with Performance Managers and Operational colleagues to develop reports in line with operational and strategic requirements, further strengthening our Performance Management Framework.
Using your systems and technical knowledge you will produce and develop reports via our SQL and PowerBI systems, in order to satisfy existing and evolving requirements of the operations teams, enhancing our reporting suite to support service delivery and statutory functions.
By identifying best practice, product options, enhancements and internal practice improvements, you will recognise, promote and support the implementation of enhancements across our main Social Care and Education systems.
The implementation of system enhancements, in collaboration with senior operations staff, service users and ITD will not only ensure functionality is adequately utilised but also further enhance our reporting abilities.
The position will involve: –
(a) Substantial contact with staff at all levels throughout the Department, including extensive consultation and liaison with senior management/establishment managers.
(b) Regular close working with colleagues in other Council Departments on joint developments and projects
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Significant experience within an organisation, delivering similar services.
- You will have a relevant professional or equivalent degree level qualification or you will have equivalent relevant experience.
- You will demonstrate extensive knowledge and experience of contributing to developing processes, procedures and/or projects
- You will have well-developed interpersonal skills for persuading, influencing and be able to build relationships and communicate effectively with customers.
- You will have good literacy and report writing skills.
- You will be able to understand and interpret complex data and provide solutions and recommendations to achieve appropriate outcomes.
- You will have good analytical, numeracy and reasoning skills.

Purpose of the job role:
- To manage a team of TA Supply/Contracts Officers, Property Surveyors and administration assistant to deliver a good supply of suitable, well-maintained private sector leased accommodation, nightly paid annex’s, housing association leasing and supplier managed temporary accommodation, overseeing the renewal of leased accommodation and managing contracts with suppliers across all accommodation types and vehicles rigorously and effectively.
- To play a full role in the management of the Housing Demand Directorate and the company as a whole, contributing to the directorate’s work and its corporate role within Homes for Haringey.
- To manage a team of contract officers and property surveyors, which will be, primarily dedicated to void works, disrepair claims and handback of private sector leases. Create and manage the contract management framework for external and internal customers.
- To manage a team responsible for ensuring PSL owner repairs are recorded and completed by the property owner each year. Contract manage HRS general repair works undertaken on PSL properties and ensuring all property owner recharges are undertaken. Manage and review the handback process and ensure that dilapidation claims and settlements are concluded within the agreed timescale.
- Take full responsibility for voids performance, across all tenures, focusing on delivering best value in voids expenditure for temporary accommodation, and minimising turn-around–times for all properties.
Experience

Working in a property procurement /management setting.
