Job Category : Legal
Location : London Borough of Hillingdon, Uxbridge, London
Hours Per Week : 36.00
Start Date : Immediate Start
Start Time : 09:00
End Time : 17:00
Salary: £25.73

This post is vacant due to the permanent Housing Lawyer being successful in the recent Deputy Principal recruitment exercise.
Over the last few months there has been increases in homelessness applications, Judicial Review threats (relating to homelessness) and disrepair claims as well as an increase in work being generated by a successful high-level Government initiative concerning social housing fraud and unauthorised subletting of and failure to occupy council housing stock. This is in addition to increases in other areas across the team and across Legal Services which the team continue to assist with.
Work across all areas has increased and cannot be undertaken by (a) existing staff in the team as they do not have capacity or (b) by other permanent staff in Legal Services as they do not have the relevant expertise to deliver the work in line with the client’s expectations or time frames which if not dealt with effectively could result in a failure to meet statutory deadlines opening the Council up to financial liability and reputational risk.
It is anticipated that the permanent recruitment exercise will commence in the next few weeks.
