Role Purpose
The role of Move-On Officer Covid-19 is responsible for a caseload of people who are at risk from or are rough sleeping or in short term accommodation . The focus of this role is to help people shield, isolate, access accommodation and health and wellbeing opportunities linked to Covid-19.
The role will work across a number of settings, and support transitions to new accommodation and support with activities to support isolation including shopping, accessing grants and health services.
The role will be responsible for developing and sustaining relationships with letting agencies, pathway providers, and working in partnership with Housing Needs and voluntary organisations to improve The Move-On Officer Covid-19 role will work collaboratively with the Move-On team to support people, achieve positive health and housing outcomes.

  1. Provide information and advice to statutory, voluntary and community partners who are supporting people rough sleeping in Haringey to secure housing outcomes.
  2. Maintain accurate records of case work, incidents and outcomes using the Inform client management system.
  3. Capture and provide relevant data and outcomes monitoring to the Move-On Coordinator.
  4. Provide practical support and guidance to support people effectively isolate and shield.
  5. Work across settings including hospital, street homelessness, pathway or directly delivered services in and outside of the borough.

Generic Responsibilities

  1. Understanding, knowledge and ability to follow guidelines that ensures compliance with Health and Safety at Work, Data Protection and other statutory requirements.
  2. Promoting and implementing the Council’s Equal Opportunities policies with a high level of understanding and commitment to them.
  3. Knowledge and experience in the use of Information Technology.
  4. To undertake any other temporary responsibilities aligned with the overall purpose and grade of the role.

Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Good knowledge of The Homelessness Reduction Act (2018) and the Care Act (2014).
Good knowledge of the Settled Status application process for EU nationals
Good knowledge of the welfare benefits system in the UK and the rights and entitlements of EEA nationals.
Experience of supporting people in temporary or supported accommodation to move-on into housing in the private rented sector.
Experience of working with single homeless adults and/or those affect by rough sleeping
An understanding of the needs and challenges faced by EEA nationals affected by rough sleeping
Experience of presenting data and information to a wide range of audiences in an appropriate and timely manner.
Experience of using case work management systems and key-working support to ensure outcomes are met.
Experience of using the CHAIN database and other relevant case management systems and tools.
Ability and willingness to use own initiative to achieve outcomes and meet demands.
A problem-solving approach to work and a willingness to find creative solutions.
A commitment to ensuring that people affected by homelessness and rough sleeping are treated with respect and dignity.
