Main Purpose of Job
To undertake work in public parks, schools, playing fields, landscaped areas and similar
open spaces.
Provision of high-quality grounds maintenance service and the achievement of its
objectives through the optimum application of the allocated resources.
Key tasks/responsibilities
1. General maintenance of allocated areas e.g., grass cutting, hedge trimming,
and maintenance of sports areas in accordance with approved specification.
2. Undertake basic setting out and marking of sports areas and upkeep of artificial /
synthetic / natural pitches. Undertake activities utilising craft skills e.g.,
interpretation of plans, site preparation and construction.
3. Cleaning e.g., public buildings such as changing rooms and toilets, parks,
playgrounds, and open spaces.
4. Have a working knowledge on how to apply pesticides in the proper manner in
accordance with manufacturer’s guidelines and current legislation.
5. Work with minimal supervision and accept responsibility for the direction of the
work of trainees and other employees assigned to them.
6. Use of handheld and powered vibrating hand tools and light plant including the
operation of tractors and tractor-mounted equipment as required.
7. Ensure works are undertaken at all times in accordance with Departmental
Health & safety Policy, any specific safe systems of work, and in accordance with
the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974.
8. Ensure that all plant and machinery to be used is in a road worthy and good
working order and that all safety guards are fitted if applicable.
9. Undertake visual inspection of playground equipment located within a park and
record in accordance with the Authority’s Playground Inspection Policy.

2. When required, to drive the vehicle if applicable, reporting all defects, and ensuring that the Road Traffic Act is adhered to at all times. Transport and supervise the crew, ensuring the best operational relationships between the service and members of the public. Drive and be responsible for any allocated vehicle and/or plant, including the cleansing and routine maintenance of the vehicle/plant and any power mechanism fitted to the vehicle.
3. Liaising with Refuse Supervisor/Area controller on daily basis in order to report any operational problems (call backs/missed collections/spillages/litter problem areas/Landfill etc)
4. Ensure that work undertaken in accordance with Departmental Health and Safety Policy and procedures including risk management principles to include relevant Safe Systems of Work and the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974).
5. To assist with other duties within the refuse and cleansing section, associated with street cleansing, as and when required to enable the service to react effectively
6. Complete all paperwork and maintain records as appropriate.

The Corporate Complaints Team is responsible for ensuring an effective, open and robust corporate complaints handling process, developing and implementing policies and procedures as appropriate. The Team oversees complaints as a whole across the Authority with a lead on Ombudsmen liaison.
There is also close liaison with the other complaints teams and representatives across the Council, as well as senior management, elected members, MPs and other authorities and agencies.
The Team is responsible for developing a positive, open and honest complaints culture across the Council and provides support, guidance and training to staff.

Cardiff Children’s Services are looking for social work assistants to work within Cardiff Children’s fostering service.
The successful candidate will join our established and supportive team who, with the support of the Principal Social Worker (PSW) and Service Manager will assist with the delivery of services. The successful candidate will be responsible for case allocation of a caseload of foster carers to provide support and supervision to foster carers.

A HR administrator is needed for up to 6 months assisting the busy HR team with the upkeep of employee databases whcih are a combination of integrated HR&Payroll systems, DBS applications and internal manual records using microsoft packages such as Word, Excel. Job Purpose:
The Social Work Assistant in the Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) for Older People will support the Community Mental Health Team in providing comprehensive mental health services to older adults. This role is dedicated to enhancing the well-being and recovery of citizens utilising strengths-based, person-centred approaches.
The role involves evaluating and creating individualised care plans based on a person's strengths and resources. It includes managing a case load and offering direct support to older adults during their recovery, encouraging independence and resilience.
You will work in collaboration with multidisciplinary team members to implement strategies that facilitate mental health recovery. You will be working in partnership with people to identify their outcomes and work with social workers to implement care and treatment plans to support their identified outcomes.
Job Specific Requirements

3.To undertake assessments including wellbeing assessments and risk assessments with individual’s and their networks, whilst considering outcomes, available resources, policy and legislation.
4.To make recommendations regarding care and treatment plans to support individuals to meet their identified outcomes, considering the flexible use of all resources and the individuals support network to meet identified needs.
5.To work alongside social workers to implement, monitor and review care and support packages / care and treatment plans.
Education

Role Purpose
To undertake non-structural repairs and maintenance, heating and ventilation and other general site services within the establishment.
