Role Purpose
The post holder will be responsible for dealing with enquiries and complaints relating to highways and parking. The postholder will predominantly deal with parking permit enquiries , either dealing directly with applications, resolving complaints or supporting applicants through their online applications.

To be responsible investigating and responding to enquiries received in relation to parking and highways services

To collate information from various sources, including liaising with technical staff services and cross service officers to prepare comprehensive, prompt responses to enquiries.

To liaise with officers in customer services, the corporate feedback team, assisting with complaint resolution and when required liaise with complainants to ensure a comprehensive understanding of concerns and achieve quick resolutions.

To deal directly with residents by telephone supporting them with online permit applications and resolving their concerns.

To be proficient in the use of IT systems and to develop detailed working knowledge of service specific IT system ( Taranto System).

When required to assess applications for disabled parking bays , or process applications for parking permits.

To provide general support to the service management team, and when required organise meetings with external participants and taking minutes of key meetings.

Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Excellent verbal communications skills and the ability to deal effectively with customers in a regulatory service, adhering to policy and guidelines while resolving concerns.

Excellent literary skills with the ability to draft responses to customer enquiries on parking and highways issues.

Experience in the use of IT systems

Enthusiastic and self-motivated with a positive and constructive approach to work and a polite, professional and helpful manner.
