To provide individual therapeutic counselling of the highest quality to help individual students engage to the best of their ability with their course of study. Provide brief therapy and support using a solution focused, time limited approach. The post holder will also be expected to deliver health, wellbeing promotional and therapeutic activities to individuals and groups. The post holder will take a proactive role in the anticipation, identification, co-ordination, and planning of response(s) of the current and future needs of students where possible, prior to those needs arising.
Work Experience
Significant post qualification experience of offering brief solution focused counselling/therapy in a similar organizational context, and able to demonstrate a clear understanding of how this context impacts on therapeutic decisions
Attend regular clinical supervision to develop, monitor and maintain professional standards of work
Evidence of continuous professional development / clinical supervision to at least professional body minimum requirements.
Experience of delivering both face to face on online therapy.
Significant experience of supporting clients with a wide variety of complex issues, including issues and challenges faced by people from different communities
Education/Qualifications
Recognised Diploma level counselling qualification
Fully accredited by an appropriate professional body, for example,
with BACP, HCPC, UKCP, BABCP or BCP, or evidence of working towards.
Significant and recent evidence of engagement in counselling, mental health and wellbeing related CPD training courses/workshops
