The role involves working alongside Social workers, with young adults, previously Looked After by the Local Authority between the ages of 18 – 24years old.
Holding a case load of up to 25 young people, office based work, visits and attending meetings in the local community and outside the borough.
The main duties would be supporting young people through the transition of being a Looked after Child to living independently, working in partnership with education/Training/Employment agencies and housing and health provisions.

• To secure appropriate accommodation for each young person including those with extreme anti-social behaviour, mental health issues and additional vulnerability
• To ensure that each young person is supported into appropriate educational, employment or training resource and that their physical and mental health is promoted
• To work with the home office, solicitors and the ‘no recourse to public fund’ team to ensure that legal status issues are resolved in a speedy manner and that the Council’s resources are targeted appropriately
• To take part in a service duty rota which provides an emergency response to any leaving care young person whose own worker is away from the office• To make financial projection on expenditure, provide specialist welfare benefit advice and challenge housing benefit and DWP decisions where required

Act as the lead officer and manager for two of the four Area Planning Committees leading the two teams of officers focused on delivering high quality development in Somerset. Responsibilities

The post holder will be required to support the ESW team by working with families to improve attendance rates at school, reduce exclusions rates and ensure Safeguarding.
The role is school based, and does not allow hybrid working. The post is also term time only (39 weeks per year).
The role will require you to work closely with pupils and senior school leadership, comply with Local Authority Policy and support schools with tackling attendance issues. Furthermore, the role will require you to challenge schools on attendance, as well as exclusions, and look at creative and innovative ways in managing this. Part of this role will require you to undertake Court Work and attend Court on a regular basis, in line with the s444 Education Act.
The role will additionally include but is not limited to;
• To contribute to the assessment, planning and review of education cases.
• To establish, develop and maintain professional relationships through direct casework, supervision, with the aim that the individuals identified needs are met.
• To work with other agencies and organisations to facilitate effective service delivery and ensure best outcomes for individuals.
• To work a case load based on a referral process from schools relating to attendance, exclusion and safeguarding matters.
• To undertake court work cases under the direct supervision of a manager or independently in line with the required balance of developmental opportunities, experience and confidence.
• To ensure that all assessments, planning, implementation and reviewing of caseload and decisions and practice are of the expected standard as required by the service. These should comply with required timescales, protocols, policies and procedures and legislation. This includes maintaining accurate, timely and evidenced case and decision making records, reports, decisions and other documents to meet timescales for review in accordance with the service framework, this may include the preparation of specialist reports as required.

Connected Care Service provides a monitoring and responding service to the residents of Haringey. The role involves ensuring calls are answered and that callers get the support they need. Connected Care is a 24 hours, 365 days a year emergency service provided in house by Haringey Council. It offers vulnerable residents a personal alarm system which can be activated in case of an emergency. Additional it provides a mobile response service if there is an emergency in the residents home. We are looking for 1 x Monitoring and Responding Officers to work within the Connected Care Service.
Monitoring & Responding officers (MRO) are required to answer and respond to emergency calls from vulnerable service users from across the borough over Jontek’s Answerlink call monitoring platform. When answering an emergency call, MROs will be required to identify and arrange appropriate intervention /support to ensure service users wellbeing. In addition this may mean visiting a service users home to help deal with the emergency. MROs will need to assess the service user’s needs, condition and provide/source the support they require to ensure their wellbeing.
As Connected Care is a 24/7 service Monitoring and Responding officers are required to work a pattern over 3 shifts 7am to 3pm, 3pm to 11pm and 11pm to 7am. To note there is a 20 minute handover at the start of each shift and so will be required to be at work 20 minutes before the start of their shift. The candidates we are looking for should have experience of working within an emergency call monitoring centre dealing with vulnerable service users and experience of a call monitoring platform is essential i.e. PNC or Verklizan, however Answerlink (Jontek) would be preferred. As this role requires the candidate to provide mobile response service to service users home in case of an emergency, we are looking for experienced and competent drivers who hold a full clean UK driving licence. Council fleet vehicles are provided but passing the council driving assessment would be a requirement to use these.
