BASIC OBJECTIVE OF THE POST

To undertake a range of domestic, cleaning and associated duties in order to ensure the safety, welfare, physical and mental well-being of children and all users of the Centre throughout the day.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

Cleaning, Domestic and Premises duties

  1. To vacuum carpets, clean floor, work surfaces and toys; polish
    window shelves, furniture and woodwork, empty wastepaper into
    sacks and deal in accordance the Council’s safe working practices.
  2. To spot mop, clean spillage and wash floors as necessary, depending
    on use to which they have been put and nature of the surfaces.
  3. To clean toilets, including lavatory pans, hand basins, fixtures and
    fittings using clean fluids, and disinfectants as appropriate in
    accordance with safe working practice; to clean potties after use by
    the children; to replace toilet rolls as and when required.
  4. To clean and scour sinks and keep other basic domestic equipment
    and machinery in a clean and workable condition, reporting any defects
    or faults to the Head of Centre.
  5. To ensure that sufficient cleaning materials are available by checking how much is left and informing Head of Centre when the amount is low, and when cleaning is finished, to put away materials and equipment, ensuring that equipment is clean.
  6. To report any health and safety hazards to Head of Centre.

Traffic Engineer – Assess and Decide Team
We believe good engineering solutions make a positive contribution to the delivery of traffic schemes in South Gloucestershire and you will have the opportunity to design and deliver on minor signing and lining schemes, carrying out investigation work and preparing outline designs. DUTIES:

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:
• You will be educated to degree level or equivalent in an appropriate discipline, you will have considerable relevant experience.
• We require you to have a good knowledge of the relevant sections of the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges, a thorough knowledge of the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions and the Traffic Signs Manual and have previous experience of providing design input during the construction phase.
• It is essential that you have a number of years of experience as a Traffic Engineer, be particularly adept at responding to correspondence as well as being able to use AutoCAD.
• It is crucial that you have excellent customer service skills and a strong customer focus in your ability to deal with internal and external stakeholders
• You must have experience in writing reports and presenting them to appropriate audiences such as senior management teams and Councillors, with a good attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate, error free work.

This role also requires you to be polite and courteous when conversing with the public.
  2. Minimum of 2 years’ experience of assess personal care and support needs of service users whilst balancing risk with the promotion of independence.
