To work closely with the Flying Start Speech and Language Therapist working across childcare and Early Years services to implement plans for children with delayed speech and language development.
The role is a mix of working from home and office based working, with the expectation of visits in the community for 1:1 home based sessions and childcare visits.
Access to transport is essential to enable travel throughout the county.
The role is 37 hours per week
Hourly rate can increase to a maximum of £13.21per hour, however this is dependent on experience and qualification and would need to be discussed and agreed prior to recruitment.
Candidate must hold a Level 3 Early Years/Childcare/Education qualification as a minimum, with relevant training completed in speech and language within the Early Years.
DBS – enhanced covering both adult/child barred lists.

This role will have a specific victim lead.
Overall Role Purpose:

Knowledge & Experience
Educated to “A” level standard or equivalent as a minimum
A qualification relevant to one of the following disciplines is desirable:

Youth Justice
Social Work;
Youth and Community;
Education;
Police;
Health;
Probation; or
Other relevant discipline
Knowledge / Experience Field Title
At least one year’s proven experience as a Youth Offending Case Manager using AssetPlus as assessment and planning tool.

A well developed working knowledge and understanding of the Children Act 1989, Crime and Disorder Act 1998, the Data Protection Act, GDPR and other relevant legislative frameworks and developments.

A good knowledge of the latest development of youth justice initiatives.

Knowledge of the causes of crime and effective interventions to reduce offending and re-offending behaviour, youth crime and anti-social behaviour.

An understanding of the roles and responsibilities of relevant statutory partner agencies.

A sound understanding of the research into effective practice with children and young people, particularly in the area of youth crime prevention.

Knowledge and understanding of child development, adverse childhood experiences and trauma informed practice.

Experience in writing Pre-Sentence Reports.

Social Care Officers will take a support role, are expected to complete well-being assessments and work with families with care and support needs. They will carry out a range of tasks across the team. It is a varied and interesting role and the team works with families looking to utilise all parts of their networks to minimise risk to children and build resilience. They are involved in all aspects of work, including planning and review for children receiving care and support as well as those with a child protection plan. Work in this team is about helping people work out what matters to them and then helping them achieve their goals.

Some experience of working with children and families is preferred.
