The Council is seeking to recruit a high calibre, dynamic individual with significant experience in job brokerage, recruitment, and partnership development, maximising the numbers of local residents accessing a range of opportunities in the borough. You will need to have a well-developed understanding of how best to secure job vacancies, apprenticeships and work placement opportunities from employers, and to increase the rate of employment and skill levels for local residents.

This important role will seek to harness the benefits of new growth in the borough for local citizens particularly those that are currently unemployed. This role will be responsible for working closely with a range of stakeholders including employers, FE colleges, Jobcentre Plus and a network of employment and skill training providers to meet targets relating to the employment, and sustainment of employment for local people.
Experience
Experience of working with the private sector in a recruitment capacity, including delivery of a high quality and account managed services to employers, and preferably experience of working with employers on major recruitment initiatives

Experience of developing and delivering employer/sector led pre-employment activity supporting the recruitment of local people within, or in partnership with public, private and third sector providers

Experience of matching candidates with job opportunities, assessing individuals and groups to ascertain job-readiness, organising interviews and delivering post-interview feedback

Experience of identifying and enabling the best use of locally available training and skills provision to support job-seekers to acquire the necessary skills to secure employment
