About the job
As a Cook Supervisor you will be a valued part of our catering team based at a
special school. You will manage the service and lead a team to provide healthy
and freshly produced school meals for pupils and staff throughout the term, plus
additional meetings, training days or additional activities which may require
catering requirements.

You will be required to:
• Run the catering service to include preparation, cooking, and cleaning to
the required standards, ensuring hygiene and safety measure are
maintained.
• Supervise the staff and complete staff training as required.
• Provide written documents in relation to Health & Safety, Food Safety
legislation and weekly reporting using IT systems and email.
• Ensure that financially the business remains within the allocated fixed
budgets.
• Work in a fast-paced environment within a prescribed timeframe.
It’s an active role – for example, you’ll be lifting, moving & handling large
equipment frequently, and working in a busy kitchen environment. There is a
regular and intrinsic requirement to communicate in English with members of
the public.

The postholder will be required to work until 22nd October, then start again on 1st November until 17th December. This is because the service does not require any cover during half term.
