About the role
Under the supervision of the Senior Practitioner, you will work with adults who may require social care services, and their family and carers, assessing their social care, functional and health needs and to plan, implement, review and monitor actions and outcomes.
This includes financial assessment within the framework of the relevant legislation, Care Act eligibility criteria, and safeguarding adults’ policies and at all times work towards giving a greater choice, independence and social inclusion for the service user
You will review and monitor each support plan and the quality of the service provision, making changes in response to evolving needs and service principles.
Modelling best practice and in line with legislation, policy and guidance, you will promote the wellbeing, dignity of service users enabling self-directed support and managing risk to ensure safety.
In line with policy and guidance you will provide recommendations including implementation of reablement or rehabilitation, use of Telecare, and/or equipment/adaptations to promote independence, and where required support implementation and monitoring of benefit to service users. You will consider manual handling and provide solutions for individuals and carers to work with.
You may be required to provide reports to the housing department on the functional impact of disability of individuals and recommend suitability and adaptability of properties.
You will work with housing and environmental colleagues to make recommendation for disabled facilities grants.

- You will be working with our residents supporting them at home following a stay in hospital, aiming to improve their quality of life and increase independence.

- You will be required to keep accurate records of your visits in line with Council guidelines. You will work closely with practitioners to implements care and support plans referring issues and discuss and raise concerns as necessary in accordance with Safeguarding Procedures in order to protect vulnerable people.
- You will be allocated residents within South Gloucestershire, and it will be your role to visit them in their own residential homes. The Home to Decide Service offer a response service 7 days a week between the hours of 7.00am – 10.00pm. All Care Responders are guaranteed contracted hours which will be worked on a rota basis

You will work to coordinate the Discharge to Assess cases for Pathways One and Two. To assist the Senior Engineer to deliver an efficient highways development control function. - Supervise construction works to ensure they are carried out in accordance with the approved design drawings and construction specifications as part of Section 38 and/or Section 278 agreements.
- Appraise Transport Assessments and Transport Statements submitted as part of planning applications to ensure that they provide a robust evaluation of the potential impact of development proposals.
- Attend the Council’s Planning Committee, when required, to answer any questions the Committee might have in regarding to the impact of a development on the highway network.
- Provide written professional evidence to support the Highway Authority at Planning Appeals and to attend Planning Appeals as necessary.
- Provide assistance to the Senior Engineer (Development Control) and to the Legal Department regarding any details required in the drafting of Section 38 and Section 278 agreements.
- Liaise with other internal teams to seek views on more specialised issues such as traffic signal design or public transport provision.
- Supervise tests required as part of both the design and construction process to ensure that they are carried out in accordance with standard industry processes. Examples of these tests include CBR tests and percolation tests.
- Prepare Traffic Regulation Orders in liaison with the Council’s Legal team, including the preparation of schedules and consultation with stakeholders in accordance with statutory requirements.
- Provide assistance to the Senior Engineer and Section Manager to identify and develop the transport requirements for strategic plans and regeneration proposals.
- Operate and maintain the Council’s transport planning software such as TRICS, TEMPRO and JUNCTIONS.

Locality teams generally work to a geographical area of the Local Authority
As a children’s social worker you will have a caseload of 20 children who are either subject to CP or CIN planning with the expectation that you will work with the child, their family and the professional network in the execution of plans to ensure the child’s safety and needs are met and maintained.
Given the nature of the work, there will also be cases that will require you to lead on a PLO plan, initiate care proceedings and commence Children Looked after process.
A working knowledge of Pan London Child Protection Procedures and Working together are essentials prerequisites for the role.
The borough works restoratively with children and their families, with us also adopting contextual safeguarding and trauma informed practices.

This job role is required to enable the Local Authority to carry out its statutory duties to Children in Need under section 17 of the Children Act 1989 and those in Need of Protection under section 47 of the Children Act 1989.
The role is one within front line delivery, where those employed carry out statutory functions to children and young people on behalf of the LA.
This role is required to mitigate against organisational risk as it is in statute that Children in Need of Protection are required to have an allocated social worker.

In this challenging, but rewarding role, you will be required to act as allocated
social worker responsible for delivering a statutory social work service to those
