PURPOSE OF THE JOB ROLE

To be a mobile member of the Estates & Neighbourhood Services Team operating across all areas of the borough.
To carry out site inspections to report on health & safety, property conditions, identify repairs and other maintenance issues.
To collect and transport belongings, goods, refuse and other items from communal areas, offices, stores, sheds, garages, voids, and residential properties for storage, use or disposal.
To carry out and assist the general teams with Fire Risk Actions across the borough.
To carry out general cleansing of communal internal and external estate areas, including graffiti removal, using, when required, specialist equipment such as pressure washers, steam cleaners, extension poles, etc. as directed.
EXPERIENCE
Experience in working with cleaning materials and equipment.
Experience in using hand and power tools.
Working with members of the public, particularly the elderly and vulnerable.
General labouring including manual handling and working at height.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Able to write memos, letters, and simple reports and communicate effectively.
Able to undertake basic inspections using guidance and information provided
Able to use IT commensurate to the role including via mobile devices
Knowledge of the correct and safe use of hand and power tools.

Communities Support staff
The Communities Directorate are seeking 6-8 people for an estimated period of 6 weeks to support an existing team with activity for the Homes for Ukraine scheme and tasks across the Directorate.
Property visits

Contacting Sponsors to introduce WSCC to them and provide a professional and welcoming approach
Provide information, advice and guidance
Commence basic DBS process if appropriate
Book in time for property visit
If enhanced DBS is required, book in time for Teams video call

  1. Monitor and process financial administration transactional requests and E.forms, in compliance with service level agreements and escalating issues where applicable
  2. Maintain high standard of validation checks to safeguard the Council against fraudulent claims and payments
  3. Maintain Financial Compliance Master Data set
  4. Supports system activities ensuring checks are made, accuracy maintained and deadlines are met, including:
    ⦁ Monthly/Year End reconciliations
    ⦁ Direct Debit creation and amendment
    ⦁ Payment Runs
    ⦁ Reporting for example BACS report
    Quality Assurance
  5. Ensures highest standards of quality assurance through the implementation of reporting standards, guidance, and advice across the portfolio. Ensuring standards are being adhered to and supporting and challenging Officers to ensure compliance is maintained
  6. Supports the senior management in establishing and implementing in house controls and compliance.

The Community Safety & Enforcement service in Haringey is committed to reducing gang involvement and youth violence in the borough.
The Haringey Community Gold team was established through a successful application to the Greater London Authority’s (GLA) Young Londoners Fund resulting in £1.5m to support the borough’s young people over the 3-year programme. The programme’s structure requires a Specialist Outreach Focus engaging the target group, identified in the grant application.

The Specialist Outreach Team delivers a bespoke range of services from street outreach, schools workshops, open forums, sports, training and employment.
Job Description
Outreach workers to engage with young people, signpost young people to supportive/positive services and act as credible guardians/messengers in locations where robberies involving
school age young people are known to occur.
To be present at and around key transport hubs and routes which young people travel back from school, for the hours 3pm to 8pm, Monday to Friday. Locations may be rotated as required and will be determined by current trends in youth violence, robbery and intelligence.
During the summer/school holiday periods, locations to be related to diversionary activity locations.
Workers to engage with young people, signpost them to support services and diversionary activities, provide basic crime prevention advice and to act as visible guardians around transport locations.
Workers to complete post deployment summary, highlighting general activity and observations around location.
Workers to attend regular partnership meetings (e.g. Robbery Focus Group, GIM/GAG, PPSG etc.) as appropriate, in order to feed into discussions and to develop intervention plans.

Key measures will include:
o Number of young people engaged with (formally/informally) o Number of young people referred to positive/diversionary activities o Number of young people referred to support services
