About the role
The Health Visitor will work as a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SCPHN) at NHS Band 6 equivalent level within the community as a member of the Health Visiting Team. The Health Visitor will develop and facilitate Health Visiting drop in clinics, health promotion activities and groups. They will provide care according to the available evidence of best practice and support the team in the development of evidence based practice. The post holder will establish effective working relationships with members of the Primary Health Care Team, Midwives, Children Centres, School Nurses, allied professionals and voluntary agencies to achieve the best health and wellbeing outcomes for families and children within the borough.
Qualifications
Educated to a degree level with a relevant professional qualification as a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse.

Family Support Practitioner
The post holder will be required to coordinate a caseload and deliver focused appropriate support to families under pressure, as well as deliver parenting and other evidence-based classes across a cluster of Children and Family Centres and in other venues within the borough as well as virtually.
Helping families make changes to their lives by being tenacious and challenging but supportive, is absolutely key. Knowledge and application of completing holistic family assessments and goal setting is essential as is an understanding of the CAF process and the role of Lead Professional.
The work is hard but seeing how you have helped a family achieve change is a huge reward. However, a commitment to families isn’t enough, your support needs to enable sustained change for families and you must have the ability to keep accurate records and follow policy and documentation procedures. Applicants should enjoy working as part of a team, as well as independently.
Evidence of candidates’ experience of working in partnership with a range of agencies in order to deliver positive and effective outcomes for the families will be required. Working flexibly to meet the needs of families is essential, this could be early morning, evening and/or weekends. Home visiting and other face to face contact, as well as virtual contact, during COVID is required. Applicants must demonstrate a genuine respect for families, a belief in the benefits of life-long learning, and knowledge of issues faced by families and services to support them.
This should reflect equally on their own development and use of supervision. A professional qualification in either Education, Social Services, Health or Youth and Community work, or significant relevant experience is required
EXPERIENCE
managing a family support caseload across a range of issues and complexity levels
working with children, young people and families, particularly those who find services hard to engage
facilitating groups, specifically, but not exclusively, evidence based parenting programmes
working flexibly and creatively within a pressurised environment
achieving value for money
multi‑agency working at all levels
working either in Education, Social Services, Health, Youth and Community or the voluntary sector.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A relevant professional qualification in Community work, Social Care, Education, Health, or Youth work or a degree and/or significant experience in a relevant related field.

SPECIALIST SECTION 47 SENIOR PRACTITIONER
The Redbridge Child Protection and Assessment Team (R&A) Service are looking for experienced Senior Social Workers. The right candidate is required to have a minimum of three years relevant experience, in Referral and Assessment. The SSW will undertake Child and Family Assessments, S47 inquiries, write ICPC reports and initial court statements, viability assessments, age assessments and CIN plans. The work will be their own case load and/or support NQSW with s.47 through joint working, it will depend on where the demand is in the service each given duty week.
The candidates must come into the office , there is some working from home flexibility but it is not the default position. Workers must be prepared as senior workers to be on standby to support as and when required. Child Protection cases require face to face visits. The candidate must be willing to come in and perform front line duties.
This is not a step up opportunity and step ups will not be considered. Please do not submit candidates that require higher hourly rates, need a flexible arrangement or do not met the spec. This position is very specific and based on service need.

Working within the Proud to Care Team
The postholder will be required to travel to Chichester for induction and initial training for 2-3 days per week for the first couple of weeks. After training is complete, the work can be done predominantly from home, with the requirement to attend Chichester or Worthing for team meetings (likely to be fortnightly or monthly).
