Duties/Responsibilities:
Managing an employee relations caseload and providing advice on employment terms and conditions, as well on complex casework e.g. grievances, disciplinaries, absence management and capability.
Supporting presenting officers with formal investigations including their preparation and collation of documentation and correspondence

About the role
The Senior Practitioner – Pods main responsibility is to safeguard and promote the welfare of young people, giving due consideration to their race, culture, religion and linguistic background.
They will manage an agreed caseload of children and young people in compliance with casework objectives, statutory and departmental policy and procedural requirements, consistently maintaining the highest level of professional standards, including the most complex cases.
The Senior Practitioner will undertake direct social work responsibilities as an allocated worker to the children and young people assigned, investigating concerns regarding a child or young person’s safety or wellbeing, make an assessment of the risk and protective factors in the family and decide on the most appropriate course of action. The purpose of this post is to provide a targeted, bespoke support to disabled children and their families, in situations where there is a risk of family breakdown due to behaviours of concern.
This is a 1 year contract working as part of a team delivering the Empowering Families and Networks in Enfield project. The Behaviour Support Practitioner will: Work shifts flexibly between the hours of 8am – 11pm Monday to Sunday on a rota basis. Provide intensive, high quality, safe care and support to children and young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder, learning disability, behaviours of concern, and those who may be experiencing a mental health crisis, using a Positive Behaviour Support framework.
This support may include:
- Supporting children and young people in the home, the Centre, or in the community to give parents a break from their caring responsibilities.
- Working intensively with parents, carers, and school settings to embed strategies and interventions that affect change, build skills, and develop resilience.
- Providing specialist advice and support to families on the phone, or in person, to prevent escalation of behaviours of concern in challenging situations.
- Support discharges from hospital, particularly out of normal work hours, working closely with health professionals, social care colleagues, parents/carers, and school staff. Alongside a Behaviour Analyst, work co-productively with parents, carers, children, and young people to develop and implement robust Positive Behaviour Support plans, risk assessments, and other interventions that are accessible and affect positive change.
Promote, support, and develop children and young people’s communication, maximising opportunities using speech, pictorial symbols, electronic systems, and sign to ensure that they are able to make choices and influence the care and services they receive. Build trusting relationships with children and young people, and effective partnerships with parents, carers, and other professionals (e.g. school staff) to achieve positive outcomes for children and young people. Including work with Enfield’s Parent Carer Forum, Our Voice. Ensure practice is trauma informed. As a division we service all households within the County by providing residents with a kerbside recycling scheme and various other reuse and recycling initiatives.
Your role will be to support the development and delivery of the promotional elements of the Waste Strategy, to increase and improve the County’s recycling performance. Updating digital content on waste website pages and responding to social media enquiries.
To support the development of a strategy for identifying areas/locations/households that have a low or poor participation recycling schemes, introduce specific education and awareness initiatives to target these areas with the aim of increasing recycling. Deal with written, in person and telephone complaints and requests from members of the public and undertake the necessary duties to ensure that all are satisfied with the outcome in accordance with the principals of Customer Care, whilst following the reduce, reuse, recycle ethos.
You will be an excellent team player with the ability to work effectively with others and confident in your approach. You will need to have an assured approach to dealing with residents on a one to one basis on the telephone or face to face.
You will need an understanding of Carmarthenshire recycling schemes and an awareness of Welsh Government Waste Strategy and the key issues facing the Council’s waste section on waste management, minimisation and recycling issues

Main Purpose of Post:
Social Workers are one group of staff within the social care sector. It is principally through Social Workers that Local Authorities meet their statutory obligations under Child and Family Legislation, Mental Health Law and the NHS and Community Care Act and others.
The overall purpose of the Social Work role within Children’s Services is to assess, risk assess and provide a service to children and their families, where possible maintaining children in their families. Experience

The London Borough of Havering is looking to recruit a Strategic Head of Service for Early Help, Targeted Support, MASH, and Youth Justice to lead and direct work/practice that positively improves outcomes for children, young people and their families in Havering, and to provide strategic oversight and support to services within the role and wider children services as required.
If successful in your application for the role of Strategic Head of Service for Early Help, Targeted Support, MASH, and Youth Justice, London Borough of Havering, you will/will be:
Ensure that early help services are responsive, dynamic and effective in delivering community based universal and targeted services based on evidence of identified need to meet the needs of Havering’s children and families.
To strategically lead, direct and oversee the day-to-day service delivery of the Children’s services integrated front door multi-agency safeguarding hub (MASH), early help preventative and support services, targeted youth support services, specialist safeguarding, youth justice service and Virtual School ensuring that all relevant agencies are working together effectively to identify and safeguard children at risk of harm.
Ensure children in need of help and protection are identified in a timely way and their needs responded to effectively and proportionately.
Ensure high standards of social work practice in line with the Children’s Services systemic model of practice so that all children and families both in universal and targeted and those in need of help and protection are in receipt of good quality, proportionate assessments.
Provide Leadership and oversight of the Early Help preventative services, including (but not limited to) the volunteering and advocacy service, children’s centre offer, family group conference service, parenting service, universal plus service as well as the early help assessment and team around the family (TAF) offer.
Provide strategic leadership for the statutory Havering Youth Justice Service (YJS), working towards best outcomes for the young people open to the service and to prevent reoffending
