PURPOSE OF THE JOB
This role is to act as a liaison point between the Temporary Accommodation Income team and the Hackney Money Hub.
The overarching intention is to secure settled accommodation for individuals and families in temporary accommodation, by tackling the rent arrears and/ or other financial barriers that prevent residents from “moving on”.
The Temporary Accommodation Move On (TAMO) officer will join the Hackney Money Hub team specifically to support individuals and families in temporary accommodation (TA) who have fallen into arrears. The intention is that, through support from the TAMO officer, individuals and families in TA will maximise their income, increase their money management skills, start managing their arrears and, ideally, come to an arrears repayment arrangement. The TAMO officer will provide holistic support through money management advice and guidance, income maximisation, including benefits claims, and one off financial support, such as Discretionary Housing Payment. Combined, these actions will allow them to secure settled accommodation.

This role is a first line IT support role and is dealing with customers face to face .
Job Purpose:

  1. Provide prompt and effective technical support for all aspects of personal computing to users across the Council through resolution of incidents and service requests in line with agreed service agreements, ensuring minimal disruption / loss of service.
  2. Ensure delivery of a high-quality customer focused user experience, including fit for purpose systems, and high standards of access, availability, usability, usefulness, and excellent standards of service.
  3. Deliver, implement, and support others to ensure that the Council’s values and practises always meet our objectives for security, financial prudence and transparency, inclusion, and sustainability.
  4. Actively contribute to the work of a multidisciplinary team, so that all its members benefit from your core skills; promote the generous sharing of expertise and create opportunities for continuous learning and development.
  5. Actively contribute to Council-wide and directorate initiatives that will achieve and implement the Council’s priorities and corporate objectives and meet the user needs of Havering and Newham residents and businesses.

On a rota basis and working with senior colleagues, ensure the effective delivery of support to users, including out of hours support where applicable, for which additional payment will be offered.

Legal Officer (Property and Regeneration),

Job Purpose
⦁ To support the lawyers in the provision of legal advice to the Councils, Members and Officers, and support the provision of legal solutions in relevant areas of legal work to enable the Councils to progress with corporate goals.
⦁ To assist lawyers and senior lawyers in the provision of legal expertise, in a shared back office support service, contributing to the delivery of a portfolio of high quality, solution focused legal work in more than one discipline and across multiple sites, to customers in different organisations.
To provide legal and administrative support across Property and Regeneration

Specific Responsibilities

  1. To support the lawyers and senior lawyers with a caseload of legal work, including personal responsibility for matters, including, but not limited to, carrying out research, drafting court pleadings, statements and correspondence, preparation of bundles and instructions to counsel, telephone conversations with customers and third parties in respect of cases, attendance at court with counsel as required, and at meetings with customers and third parties. Appropriate supervision as required by Lexcel will be provided, but the Legal Officers will be expected to work autonomously to produce creative and innovative solutions to legal issues
  2. To provide support if required to strategic projects across multi-functional teams,
  3. To carry out advocacy on preliminary matters if required to do so, and not to instruct external support except in accordance with agreed procedures
    To work with the Administrative Support Team to ensure that all
  4. support tasks are carried out at the relevant level
  5. To provide advice to customers on legal matters, and liaise with other parties in proceedings in respect of the conduct of the case, with the ability to and responsibility for making appropriate decisions without supervision
  6. To work some evenings, weekends and occasional public holidays in order to meet the service requirements of customers and in order to ensure appropriate representation of the Councils with residents, elected members, and external bodies.
  7. Other duties – the job description indicates the main areas of activity for this post. From time to time other tasks/duties maybe required which are commensurate with the general area of responsibility and grade of the post.

Able to demonstrate and evidence a highly developed Competence in:
