Overall Purpose of Job 

 1.        The post holder reports to the Arts and Heritage Manager.  

 2.        To plan and deliver with a high standard of professional inward-and outward-facing events for the department and council wide, with an appropriate focus on modern technology, and contribute to engagement co-ordination as part of the department’s resident engagement and participation remit. 

 3.        To provide logistical systems and technical support to review, evolve and implement the council’s annual events programme.   

 4.        Working with colleagues to ensure the successful delivery of events from initial concept and planning through to on-site management and post event evaluation. 

 5.        Using knowledge of the sector, to embed participation opportunities enabling residents to creatively and artistically express themselves, whilst fostering a learning and awareness of the art forms and traditions of our diverse communities. 

 6.        To ensure relevant legislation, regulations and policies are complied with. 

 7.        To work with the relevant teams and council colleagues to ensure effective marketing and communications that deliver audiences to council’s events and activities.

We are looking for an Environmental Health Officer (EHO), initially for six months, to join Hackney Council’s Environmental Health team. The successful candidate will mainly be required to carry out food hygiene and food standards inspections of low risk categories of businesses. Some experience of enforcing health & safety legislation will be highly desirable. 

We need someone who can out low risk category (C to E) Food Hygiene and corresponding Food Standards inspections, and can build effective working relationships with our diverse communities and other internal and external stakeholders. You will have good communication skills and be able to negotiate sensitive issues in a professional manner. The appointed practitioner will be someone with an eye for detail who understands the importance of accurate record keeping and effective administrative systems.

You will need an appropriate Environmental Health qualification and have evidence of meeting the current FSA FLCoP Competency Framework. You have demonstrable experience in a similar role, you are someone who can work on their own initiative and is self driven and motivated by outcomes would thrive in this role.

The Clinical Health Team is a specialist health service for adults with learning disabilities whose health needs cannot be met by mainstream health services. We employ a range of health professionals in order to meet those needs.

Team Functions

•          The delivery of health inputs provided by trained clinicians specialist in the field of learning disabilities where needs cannot be met by mainstream services alone.

Connected Care is a 24 hours, 365 days a year emergency service provided in house by Haringey Council. It offers vulnerable residents a personal alarm system which can be activated in case of an emergency. Additional it provides a mobile response service if there is an emergency in the residents home.  We are looking for 1 x Digital Care Technician to work within the Connected Care Service. 

The Digital Care Technician play a vital role in ensuring that all equipment is installed, deinstalled and maintained safely and effectively in a timely manner to ensure service is maintained (this involves use of tools and ladders). As well as ensuring all customers and their family members/carers understanding how the equipment works and can use it effectively.  

The role is Monday to Saturday – only 1 Saturday will be worked within the month and the shift pattern is 9am to 5pm. 36 hours per week.

The candidates we are looking for should have experience of installing and maintaining lifelines and telecare equipment in vulnerable service users homes. As this role requires the candidate to drive to service users home to install equipment, we are looking for experienced and competent drivers who hold a full clean UK driving licence. Council fleet vehicles are provided but passing the council driving assessment would be a requirement to use these. In the meantime they would be required to use their own vehicles and mileage would be paid.

  1. To install and deploy identified Assistive Technology equipment within service users homes.

Payrate: £38.  We are bound by the MoC, which means pay rates are capped. Whist we are able to pay up to £40, this rate is for those deemed to be at Qualified Social Work Practitioner level with over 2 years experience. About the job The Transition Teams are county-wide teams that offer a service to young people from the age of 16 who have lifelong disabilities. Lifelong disability transition services are for those young people with physical disability, learning disability and/or autism. The focus of the team is support people moving from childhood to adulthood and plan for the time after the person turns 18.

  1. Key responsibilities 

Act as a senior professional representative for the service by working with a focus on ensuring the effective delivery of services to those people who access or need the service. 

Manage and advise on complex cases within a specialist area including working alongside many other agencies, dealing with complex family dynamics, managing complex risk levels and dealing with legal issues. This will include effectively leading on the most efficient use of resources to produce the appropriate outcome and staff management. 

Take a lead and proactive role within the discipline of a specialist area, this may involve being a dedicated representative for a particular forum or being at the forefront of developments within a particular field. 

Develop effective working relationships and communicate effectively with those people who access or need the service, families, carers, colleagues and other professionals in order to deliver the appropriate interventions and service delivery. 

Responsible for the adoption of business and leadership changes and resource deployment as directed. Identify any issues of service delivery and its development paying attention to business plans. Identify gaps and seek to fill needs on service development. 

Responsible for promoting a strengths-based approach in both your own practice and that of the whole team, and for the application of creativity in support planning in exploring all potential options for meeting needs and outcomes, and consideration of the availability of resources across the service. 

Lead in initiatives and development work as required.

Represent the service at events and meetings with external agencies, making commitments as directed and agreed.

Maintain accurate records of all work undertaken and produce case reports and correspondence for a variety of audiences including meetings, conferences, court, panels and other agencies. Monitor colleagues’ record keeping as part of supervision.

Responsible for the professional supervision of Social Work professionals and unregistered practitioners, including contributing to the performance management and professional development of those staff. This will include mentoring/coaching colleagues and assisting with the setting and monitoring targets and objectives to ensure a fully effective team, as required.

Responsible for expenditures from an agreed budget when appropriate. E.g. making necessary purchases in relation to situations arising with people who access or need the service such as commissioning respite care.

You will be evidence based, challenging and curious in your professional approach whilst empathising and building up good and honest relationships with individuals, families and other partners e.g. health, housing, support providers.
