Require an Intensive Housing Management Officer to cover in a sheltered Housing Scheme for older people over 55.
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 9am -12noon, ability to be mobile and cover other schemes as an when needed.

To deliver a high quality intensive housing management service that supports the general maintenance and security of the buildings and meets the needs of vulnerable sheltered housing and supported housing residents whilst achieving performance targets and maximising customer satisfaction, ensuring that all relevant policies and procedures are followed.
1. To carry out regular building inspections, identify elements of maintenance required and report repairs to the appropriate department.
2. To help maintain a high standard of cleanliness, safety and security within the building by carrying out regular checks (e.g. patrols and monitoring of CCTV, alarm testing) and maintaining accurate records (e.g. visitor log books, maintenance reporting, etc).
3. To direct service contractors as required, helping to ensure an efficient and cost effective service is delivered to residents and to the organisation as a whole.
4. To be a key holder for the building and to allow/supervise access as appropriate.
5. To assist the Housing Team with viewings and sign-ups.
6. To assist tenants to understand the housing management policies, for example where reporting of ASB would be appropriate
7. To regularly monitor the general safety and wellbeing of residents including sign-posting and referral of residents to support service services where appropriate.
8. To report any concerns relating to safeguarding of vulnerable people using the correct procedures.
9. To develop and maintain constructive relationships with residents, care and support providers, commissioning bodies and others from the wider community.
Knowledge and skills
Experience of a Customer facing role.
Experience of maintaining buildings health and safety requirements including regular inspections and monitoring.
Good level of computer literacy, able to utilise Word, Excel, Outlook and the internet to maximise the efficient use of resources
Experience of working with vulnerable people and community groups.

- DUTIES
- To be one of the LA’s designated officers under the 1996 Education Act, to provide help and advice for parents and professionals at any stage before, during and after the assessment process referring only complex cases or issues to the Named Officers and deputising for them in their absence.
- To undertake casework in relation to pupils with special educational needs
- To administer, with the clerical officers, the assessment and statementing of pupils with special educational needs in accordance with the 1996 Education Act ensuring that the procedure for assessment and statementing of pupils with SEN is complied with and that annual reviews and reassessments are properly and fully enacted. These include :
⦁ ensuring compliance with the statutory deadlines for the assessment and statementing process and that relevant forms and letters are sent to parents, schools and other professionals or agencies. The statutory deadlines are closely monitored and measured by Audit Commission Performance Indictors.
⦁ interviewing/talking to parents to advise them on their response to the assessment and statement procedures, where necessary recording verbal statements and arranging for interpreters, translators or signers as required, making recommendations to the Named Officers about action that may be required or referring on more complex cases
⦁ negotiating with and clarifying to parents or schools their rights and responsibilities in respect of the various stages of the assessment and statementing procedure and educational placement
⦁ ensuring that schools are complying with the annual review process referring more complex issues to the Named Officers or Service Manager.
⦁ writing formal Statements for pupils of all ages with special educational needs in consultation with the Named Officers following section 323 assessments and annual reviews referring complex cases to the appropriate Named Officer or Service Manager and to deal with associated casework arising from this.
⦁ working with the Named Officers to investigate and identify appropriate provision, (schools or units) for pupils with special educational needs to be recommended to the SEN Panel and ensuring that provision is DFCS approved
⦁ providing parents with details of the placement recommended for their child, making suitable travel arrangements for them to attend interviews in liaison with headteachers, the Education Welfare Service and social workers where necessary.
⦁ consulting with and negotiating, as directed, with headteachers and others to ensure that appropriate provision is made for pupils with SEN and as indicated on the child’s Statement of Special Educational Needs.
