Grade of Post is PO1. Reporting to Head of Communications and Marketing. Based in Downpatrick. To assist with the provision of an effective and efficient Communications and Marketing service across the Council and the full suite of Communications and marketing functions. To contribute as an integral member of Communications and Marketing Section, as well as across departments and services, to develop and deliver effective and innovative external and internal Communications and Marketing strategies which supports the Council’s vision, values and strategic direction; and supports the Corporate, Directorate and Service business plans of Newry, Mourne and Down District Council. To plan, manage and evaluate targeted Communications and marketing campaigns to increase awareness and promote a positive image of all Council priorities, policies, services and events in the local, regional, national, professional trade media.
Applicants must have a degree level qualification in a relevant discipline e.g. Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, journalism or Digital/Visual Communications. AND at least 1 year’s practical experience working in a communications role within a corporate environment with responsibility for: Brand Management, Managing the production of quality materials for print and online channels, Developing and implementing integrated communications and marketing campaigns, Managing media relations, Developing and managing at least one online platform, Working closely with external suppliers (e.g. graphic design agencies, advertising agencies etc..), Delivering projects on time and within budget. OR
In lieu of qualification have at least 2 years’ practical experience as detailed above.
Must be:
Competent in the use of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Publisher and e mail.
Competent in the use of digital platforms including website for corporate communications.
Be available to travel and attend evening and other meetings outside of office hours as required.
Hold a full valid driving licence and have access to transport to meet the requirements of the post OR – have access to a mode of transport that will enable the postholder to fulfil the role in full. (it should be noted that the post will involve travel across the district on a regular basis.

We are looking for an experienced social worker to join our team. We work with looked after children, those in court proceedings and also those supported on other orders such as SGO and supervision orders. Based in Selby North Yorkshire and currently have one office day a week and one duty day a week. The children we work with however cover a large geographical area and as such there will be amounts of travel within the role. The main roles and responsibilities will be to manage a caseload of children and young people from 0-18 who are looked after, completing the visits to them, PEP’s reviews and other general support. We are a friendly and supportive team who work well together but also need someone to be able to work alone.

The primary purpose of this role is to:
-Directly manage and matrix-manage a team and to support and implement the strategic planning of the service in relation to youth influence and participation.
-To provide leadership management in the delivery of efficient operation services to ensure the delivery of high quality, fully integrated services to children, young people and their families in line with the requirements of national legislation (including government regulation, local policy and best practice.
-Deputise for the Service Manager/Team managers across the service.
-Financial decision making and accountability for team budget within the agreed budgetary limits. Working with the wider management team to inform commissioning and market management/development to ensure service provision meets local need and delivers improving outcomes for children and families and value for money.
-To be responsible for assigned projects.
-Responsible for the HR management, performance and resource allocation for the team and to manage the ongoing development of the service through the continuous improvement and performance management structures.
-Support Face to Face working in line with Havering Children’s Services models and guide collaborative partnership working with multi-agencies

To provide general administrative support to the Central Placements Team.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
1 – To liaise with Finance section ensuring all relevant information is provided to enable contracts to be issued and payments made.
2 – To assist with the reconciliation and inputting of invoices on the payments system (Fusion).
3 – To maintain the computerised or manual systems required with details of services commissioned and providers to ensure accurate financial and care records are held by the Authority.
4 – To participate in a rota of panel support with other panel administrators, covering where necessary for sickness and annual leave.
5 – To Support the Contracts Officer, with administration of contracts and novations.
6 – To Support Panel Administrations with minute taking and scheduling of Panels for Adult and Childrens Social Care.
7 – To participate in the training of locum and/or temporary staff as required.
8 – To undertake any other duties commensurate with the level of the post, as required to ensure the efficient and effective running of the Department / Section.
