In brief:
Family Support and Protection is the long-term intervention team in Tower Hamlets that hold cases of Child Protection, Child in Need, Care Proceedings, Private Proceedings, No Recourse to Public Funds, Private Fostering, Exploitation and cases involving radicalisation. The work involves progressing intervention plans, regular statutory visits, case/plan reviews, conducting assessments, initiating care proceedings – preparing social work evidence and developing care plans, preparing section 7 and section 37 reports to court. The candidate is also expected to keep on top of statutory timescales and performance indicators.
Key requirements:

1. 3 plus post qualified experience in a long-term CP team

JOB PURPOSE

The Associate Director of Integrated Children & Young People’s Commissioning is an interim role within the joint working arrangements established between NHS South East London CCG Bromley Place Based Team and the London Borough of Bromley (LBB). The Development and Flood Risk Officer will log applications, assessing, deciding and informing the Planning Authority whether proposals are supported or objected to, on the basis of flood risk and inclusion of sustainable drainage systems (SuDS). This is part of the Lead Local Flood Authority’s statutory consultee role for major planning applications.

The role is required to work across and understand the policies/processes in highways, water companies and the Environment Agency, maintaining knowledge of recent developments in the field of SuDS including flood risk, water quality, biodiversity, viability, water supply, construction and building regulations. Knowledge and understanding of drainage design and analysis software systems is key to success in this role.

Role Responsibilities:

Responsible for responding to major planning application consultations and chargeable pre-application enquiries within required timescales, updating the applications database/case management system.
Work collaboratively with partners to address technical issues arising, to resolve quickly with no impact on response times.
Responsible for maintaining up-to-date knowledge of leading edge practice national legislation and guidance, determining effective practical application across the Council.
Deliver follow-up process to planning consultations e.g. logging assets on the asset register.
Attend engagement events as required and update partners/interested groups of the team’s activities on a regular basis if appropriate.

Senior Care Manager required within the Learning Disability Team
Pay rate up to £35 per hour
The Successful candidate will be undertaking reviews of people with learning disabilities and facilitating their return to day activities. They will be required to review people, liaise with carers and the new services that have been set up by commissioners.

They will work through a list of previous attendees and ensure people are going to the right services and assist / support them to make the right choices in relation to day activities and whether to accept a direct payment.

Claims Handler , to handle claims against the Council

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

1. To support the Risk and Insurance Manager and Senior Claims Officer in providing a comprehensive claims handling service to the community, outside bodies and officers of the Council dealing with all claims made against the Council’s Public Liability and Employers Liability policies, including repudiating or settling claims in accordance with current guidelines directly with the claimant or their representative.
2. Work with the Head of Claims to ensure maximum flexibility to meet changes in litigation practice demands and priorities in order to deliver a quality front line service.
