The Care and Support Plan Reviewing Officer role will introduce independent reviewing to all children and young people subject to a Care and Support Plan. You will need to review and make recommendations utilising outcome based care planning approaches, which will impact and improve lives of children and young people. This will include knowing and recognising where there are safeguarding concerns, or alternatively when non statutory services might better support a child or their family.
The main duties of the post holder will be to ensure you are focussed on the needs of children and ensuring they are addressed, minimising drift and checking the consistency of care planning and decision-making.

Cardiff’s Disability Team is a multi-disciplinary team which consists of social workers, social work assistant, support planners, PBS trained workers and carers assessors. The work is varied and challenging and encompasses work with children in need to those children in care and everything in between. You will work with children and young people who have complex and diverse needs including those children who are either in Tier 4 Mental Health provision or at risk of admission.

• Ideally you will be a qualified professional within either a suitable health or social care degree with experience of leading a multi-disciplinary team

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Cardiff Child Health & Disability Team for two dynamic individuals who are skilled in undertaking carers assessment. The successful individuals will be skilled in communications and organisational skills and be able to provide solution focused support to carers and their families. The successful applicants will work alongside qualified social workers to ensure the needs of our carers are assessed and understood. Within the role you will be expected to:
• To receive, prioritise and record referrals for carers’ assessments.
• To undertake carers assessments and record outcomes on Carefirst.
• To work with case managers to arrange appropriate services in line with individual plans.
• To provide advice to carers and signpost to other agencies.
• To liaise with voluntary and statutory agencies.
• To support carers events, working with the Carers Policy Development Officer.
• To participate in team meetings.
• To attend supervision sessions as required.
• To undertake these duties in line with Council Policies and Procedures.
• To undertake training and self-development and to contribute to this process in others.

CareFirst is the case management system used by social services and communities staff to record their service user information. The system also provides key performance indicators. The CareFirst Information Assistant provides assistance and support to end users of the CareFirst system.
About the job
To provide a single point of contact for internal / external users of CareFirst to log, expedite and, where applicable, resolve their queries or problems.
What We Are Looking For From You
We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic, confident person to join a small team in helping to provide a single point of contact for Children’s Services internal users of the current social care electronic case record system CareFirst.
The successful person will be expected to set up new users and organisations on the system as well booking staff on to the appropriate training sessions. Duties will also include, logging, expediting and, where applicable, resolving queries or problems from users and various data cleansing of records.
Experienced and competent in using PC
Applications, including
Microsoft products.
Experience of providing
application support to staff on a regular basis.

Job Purpose and Context

Post Title: Regulatory Officer/ Environmental Health Practitioner (Food Safety)
Pay Range: Circa £27.00 (Ltd rate) p/h
Location: Isle of Wight (the worker will be inspecting sites in person on the Island, we will therefore subsidise 50% of any ferry costs for travelling from Southampton, Southsea, Lymington or Portsmouth and the rates will also be discounted)
Hours: To be agreed but we are happy to work in a flexible and agile way, so the opportunity is there for part-time, and administrative work can be completed remotely from home.
We are looking for a skilled Environmental Health Practitioner to complete a backlog of work while we continue with incoming workloads and embark on permanent recruitment projects. Applicants must demonstrate sound knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, processes, systems, procedures and standards who can demonstrate experience of working in a regulatory service environment.
Experience should include inspection, investigation and consultations, with previous enforcement experience, including gathering, preparing and presenting evidence in court.
Experience in the following area is essential ;
- Food Safety Standards
Applicants will need to hold a degree in Environmental Health OR a combination of equivalent accredited qualifications for example:
- Registration with the Environmental Health Registration Board
The successful applicant could potentially be working on a blend of the following duties;
- Undertaking detailed inspections / investigations to determine whether hazards are effectively controlled, and legislation is complied with.
- Offering advice on good practice.
- Returning to premises, as appropriate, to establish whether remedial action has been taken to comply with necessary requirements.
- Taking appropriate enforcement action, including preparing comprehensive letters, reports, schedules and legal notices in accordance with relevant enforcement policies and procedures.
- Using your skill and initiative to identify matters warranting formal action.
- Where necessary, collecting, controlling and presenting evidence in a court of law, in support of proceedings taken by the Council.
Applicants will also need to be able to satisfy the travel requirements of the role e.g. use of a vehicle here on the Island and possession of a full driving licence.
