Key Skills:

  1. Good numeracy skills to work with figures and make sound and accurate financial calculations, working methodically.

Qualifications and/or experience:
⦁ Good working knowledge of SAP/AXISe or other similar equivalent IT system used for working with Payroll, Pensions and HR Administration or within a similar financial environment. Sound and accurate overall IT knowledge including Microsoft Office
⦁ 4 GCSEs with A-C passes including Maths and English or equivalent qualification or experience demonstrating that level of numeracy and literacy.
⦁ Institute of Payroll & Pensions Management (IPPM) part qualified at NVQ level 3 (Foundation in Local Government Pensions Administration) or 4 (Team Leading- Payroll/Pensions) or an equivalent qualification or demonstrable technical and theoretical knowledge related to Payroll or Pensions Administration.
⦁ Experience of working in a customer orientated environment.
⦁ Experience of payroll or pensions practice, applications, and regulations
⦁ Experience providing advice or guidance to managers or customers. Including explaining specialist or technical information.
⦁ Experience in supporting others or providing on-the-job training to colleagues to maximise their specific capabilities.

Key responsibilities
⦁ To provide reliable, efficient and effective flexible support to a team of a complex administrative nature relating to the delivery of a specialist financially related service (e.g. Pensions and Payroll,).
⦁ Responding to client/customer queries, giving information and guidance relating to the service, maintaining records and producing standard correspondence providing support and day to day processing according to set procedures.
⦁ To provide senior level specialist administration, support and advice to assist the team in delivering its central service function.
⦁ Supports and advises other team members with processing and procedures ensuring high standards of service. Checks work done by Administrators as necessary.

Job Description : The Mental Health Prevention and Wellbeing Officer’s role will have a distinctive contribution to make to the current challenges faced in mental health services. The role holder will need to fully understand and implement a strength-based approach that will ensure that all customers are supported in this manner. This approach would be applied in all elements of social care including assessment, planning, implementing, and review of customer’s care. You would also need to understand The Mental Capacity Act and how to apply it to social care. You will need to be aware of WSCC safeguarding procedures and ensure that these are followed. West Sussex County Council value customer involvement and promote autonomy, therefore you would be expected to ensure that individuals have choice and control throughout the process. The role consists of working with social workers closely across services, both internally within Adult Social Care, and externally with our partner organisations such as Sussex Partnership Foundation Trust and other third sector agencies. The post holder would need the ability to maintain and build on relationships with several agencies to ensure effective support is provided to customers using mental health services. Job Description : In this challenging, but rewarding role, you will be required to act as an allocated social worker responsible for delivering a statutory social work service to those people who access or need specialist mental health services and will support their discharge from hospital. Your role will be to work in partnership with the newly formed mental health hospital discharge hub including completion of all statutory work such as Care Act assessments, s117 aftercare planning meetings, safeguarding, Mental Capacity Assessments, Best Interest Meetings as well as any other social care related tasks and functions. This will be a fast-paced role and you will be required to be proactive and able to work under pressure to ensure all aspects of the individual’s needs are considered and incorporated into the discharge process.
You will work as part of a small county-wide team which will focus solely on the discharge role. The workers within this team will be aligned to geographically based mental health hospitals, providing a service to people who are aged 18 and over. The staff within the team may focus on a specific age group either 18-65 or 65+, but you will need to be willing to cover work across the age range.
You will work effectively in partnership with other staff, teams and agencies, both internal to the Council and external, including Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. An excellent understanding of all the relevant health, voluntary and private sector services in the area is essential. The role will involve regular exposure to people who access the service and/or subject matter, which may place significant emotional demands on you, for example dealing with unpredictable risk, complex social work cases and leading on safeguarding enquiries. You will act as a professional representative for the service by working with a focus on ensuring the safe and effective delivery of services to people who have complex mental disorder, acting with integrity, professionalism, and respect on behalf of the organisation, ensuring at all times that the needs of individuals and the business are paramount. This will be a fastpaced role and you will be required to be proactive and able to work under pressure to ensure all aspects of the individual’s needs are considered and incorporated into the discharge process.
There will be some requirement for you to work flexibly in order to supportcustomers, carers and families, sometimes out of normal working hours. You’ll need to be able to travel independently throughout the county, including to areas that may not be easily accessible by public transport, so a driving licence is essential. • Approved Mental Health Practitioner (it is a requirement to have AMHP qualification or to be working towards the qualification to be complete within 2 years of appointment and to maintain level of knowledge).

This is a physically demanding role, with work predominantly outdoors on the adventure playground. You will be expected to deliver all types of play activities including but not limited to: fire and water play, structure building, arts and crafts activities, sport activities, creative and imaginative play, gardening and nature based activities. You will also be expected to support day trips and residential activities.
A good understanding of structure building, maintenance and repairs is needed; you will be expected to perform daily and quarterly inspections of play structures and the playground space, and carry out remedial repairs and ongoing maintenance to ensure the safety of young people attending the playground.
During service delivery you will be predominantly based outdoors, all year round and in all weather conditions.

Hours of Work: 36 hours per week
