JOB PURPOSE:

General Description of Role:
The Casual Cook will be working in one of the three Community Centres – Woodhatch, Horley or Banstead. The role involves running all aspects of the catering service at the centre by providing meals, snacks and beverages to members and users of the centre, delivering the service in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

This role is to predominantly provide cover across the centres as and when required.

Responsibilities of Role:

  1. To work with the centre’s manager to provide the catering offer, ensuring tasty, healthy, and varied meals are provided.
  2. To prepare and serve a range of hot and cold meals, snack bar lunches, snacks, cakes and beverages as required and prepare three course meals for centre events or hirers.
  3. Liaise with kitchen staff, management, and customers to ensure the smooth running of the catering function, and deal with any customer concerns.
  4. Provide excellent service to all café and centre customers - taking their orders, answering questions, handling cash and card transactions, serving food and drinks, and clearing tables, in a friendly, polite and efficient manner.
  5. Maintain a calm, organised and professional approach at all times, including during busy periods.
  6. To maintain and clean the kitchen and café area and all equipment including appliances in a clean, tidy and safe state. (NB role includes cleaning the kitchen, including equipment and floors.)
  7. To clear tables and wash up (washing up is done by hand prior to sterilising), and to ensure that tea-towels, tablecloths etc. are laundered daily, working cooperatively with other staff and volunteers.
  8. To undertake all duties in compliance with Safer Food, Better Business food safety procedures and level 2 Food Heigan (Training will be provided if necessary.), To be responsible for relevant monitoring, evaluation and record keeping, including records required for compliance with Safer Food, Better Business food hygiene regulations.

  17. Be responsible for overseeing the management, teaching and assessment of social work students carrying out practice learning placements.
  18. Ensure that reports are up to date, of a high quality and submitted according to appropriate timescales.
  19. Ensure that expenditure on cases is properly authorised and recorded.
  20. Be responsible for accurate, sensitive, timely and up to date data entry on all cases including:
    ⦁ data entry on ICS and any other electronic tools or database
    ⦁ data required for specific PIs/targets,
    Due consideration being given to any legal and human rights of the individuals concerned.
  21. Ensure that client information data is lawfully gathered, accurate, up to date and only divulged in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and the local government common law duty of confidentiality. Failure to apply these duties can lead to the individual or the Service facing court proceedings.
  22. Undertake any other duties as directed from time-to-time to meet the exigencies of the service.

Business and Admin Support Officer:
This position provides comprehensive and high quality technical administrative support to Highways team, to ensure targets are met. The post holder has recently resigned and to ensure service delivery, the position must be filled immediately.

The support provided includes;
· Providing technical support to Highways Structures team i.e. Abnormal load movement, asset management and data base
· Providing financial administrative support to managers and preparing
monthly spending report for Head of Highways and for submission to our finance team.
· Responsible for tasks, duties and information, appropriate to specific areas of support and the wider Group as necessary.
· Producing reports, analysis and statistical information as required, especially for year end.
· Supporting senior managers to ensure compliance with all corporate requests.
· Dealing with the enquiries with minimal supervision as and when required.
· Preparing and submitting highways fee claims and overtime claim for the Highway officers by the required deadline.

Failing to fill this position will affect service delivery and hinder the execution of the responsibilities mentioned above.
