MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

Working as part of a newly established Opportunity Lambeth delivery team, the Employment Co-ordinator will play a crucial role in supporting Lambeth residents into employment, working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, partners, and employers, to provide access to high quality, sustainable employment and training opportunities.
This role requires a versatile and solution-focussed individual who is able to confidently engage with people at all levels, and from a range of backgrounds to develop creative solutions to unemployment.
• Support the delivery of Opportunity Lambeth employment and training initiatives through effective engagement of local people, and delivery of a personalised programme of employment support which meets the needs of Lambeth residents
• Demonstrate an empathy and understanding of the lived experience of individuals who face particular challenges in accessing (or progressing within) the labour market, working creatively to identify solutions and overcome barriers to employment
• Develop a strong network of internal and external partners, employers, and providers, to support the cohesive progression of residents who are unemployed or on low income into positive employment and training destinations
• Work with a range of employers and partners to develop innovative and engaging routeways into work, with a focus on ‘good jobs’ in key growth sectors that pay a Living Wage and support future career development
• Provide comprehensive recruitment support and job brokerage services for employers, including those with S106 or Responsible Procurement commitments, to maximise the benefits of borough investment and spend for local people
• Confidently promote equality, diversity and inclusion in all aspects of the work, recognising and challenging discrimination and working to support the engagement and progression of marginalised groups of residents who are disproportionately affected by unemployment

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The Health Protection Practitioner role is designed to promote the work of the council’s Public Health team within the local community.
In respect of Covid-19, they are responsible for:
Assisting the community with rapid testing services ensuring adherence to health and safety protocol
Supporting community collection pop-up points and outreach activity, related testing awareness activity, ensuring adherence to health and safety protocol
MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Respond to operational direction and requests from the Health Protection Manager
Support and provide education to the community on correct and safe public health practices, with a focus on Covid-19 health messaging
Ensure adherence to SOP and clinical guidance is maintained throughout operations, as directed by the Community Support Manager
Enable a seamless testing/public engagement process, ensuring that the public experience is pleasant and managed in a professional way
Be versatile throughout Testing roles including, Registration, Queue Support, Test Operative, Test Assistant, Results Recorder (training provided)
Be verstitle throughout Community Collect roles including, Collection Point Assistant and Queue Coordinator (training provided)
Participate and support any required promotional activity by going out into the community to help educate and promote the importance of testing and vaccinations
Support any emergency surge testing operations, mass event testing and similar scalable projects at short notice, should deployment be required
Proactively support general operational setup and breakdown of operations
Communicate to test participants the purpose of participating in testing the testing journey
Support and assist the community with safe Covid-19 testing, providing additional verbal instructions and demonstration on swabbing practices, if required
Supporting community members with testing related digital requirements, including registering tests and recording results
Provide additional assistance for people who might not have the relevant digital information or digital capabilities
Prepare test samples for analysis and interpret results
Collate test result data to share via digital submission processes
Ensure crowd control and social distancing is maintained during all operations
Adhere to PPE and safe Covid-19 practices to maintain personal and team safety, and demonstrate ideal practices to the community
Advise community members of symptoms of Covid-19 and what to do on receipt of positive test results
To promote equality among all staff, and ensure that services are delivered in a non-discriminatory way that is inclusive of disadvantaged groups.
Ensure to represent the council in a professional, respectful and flexible approach when deployed into varying contexts

⦁ Record relevant information on contact sheets at each visit in accordance with procedures and maintain all other relevant records.
⦁ To attend team meetings, training, and appraisal and supervision meetings as requested.
⦁ Support the induction and training of new and existing employees as requested.
⦁ To understand and comply with the Group’s health and safety policies and procedures at all times including (but not limited to): Personal Safety, Emergency Procedures, Manual Handling and use of aids and equipment.
Night workers responsibilities – in addition to the above responsibilities night workers who have elected to take part in sleeping or waking nights are required to carry out the following:
Sleeping nights
⦁ To be present on site, and respond to calls received through the emergency alarm system, or by telephone from the call centre and take appropriate follow up action. Care workers to ensure that they follow lone working procedures.
Waking nights
⦁ To be on site, and lone-work to provide a response to calls received through the emergency alarm system, or by telephone from the call centre and take appropriate follow up action.
⦁ To conduct scheduled care calls as per the rota.
⦁ To Lone work and to ensure the security of the building, e.g. check that doors and windows in communal areas are secure.
⦁ To ensue all lone working procedures are followed
Knowledge, skills and competencies
Qualifications / training:
⦁ Good standard of Maths and English
⦁ RCF Level 2 In Health & Social Care or equivalent (or willing to study towards)
Evidence of training covering; health & safety; fire safety; first aid; manual handling; food hygiene and infection control; medication; safeguarding; personal care
Knowledge / Skills:
⦁ Previous employment or personal experience of providing care and/ or support to others.
