PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Southwark Council has statutory duty and contractual obligations to provide a pest control service to residents and client teams. Pest Control Technicians are there to provide the front line delivery of core pest control services through inspections, investigations, and surveys of suspected infestations and to carry out treatments or pest proofing works in line with legislative requirements and professional best practice.

Site visits may be within council owned or private properties; communal spaces such as lofts, plant rooms, basements or corridors; public realm locations such as parks; and commercial premises.

Role overview:

Rotherham Council are currently seeking an experienced Health and Safety Professional carrying a NEBOSH Diploma to provide short term cover whilst the team is experiencing a number of vacancies. In addition to the core Health and Safety experience and qualification the Council is ideally seeking someone with relevant experience in relation to safety management within construction however all applicants will be considered.

The post sits as part of the Corporate Health and Safety function with a remit across the Council and its varied activities and service delivery and so is an exciting opportunity offering a diverse set of experiences for the right candidate.

Job specific qualifications
NEBOSH National Diploma
Technical membership of IOSH
Desirable:
NEBOSH National General Certificate in occupational Health and safety

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our ADULT SOCIAL CARE LOCALITY PROJECT TEAM for social workers with:

• Experience working with older adults and/ or adults experiencing the impact of physical, or cognitive, or learning disabilities
• Experience of working in community based/ locality based adult social worker teams

The role is as part of our focused project team helping us to ensure customers are assessed/ review in a timely manner, that safeguarding concerns progress within timescale, and support secured with the minimum delay.

You will be responsible for the day to day management of your assigned cases, intervening with legal and procedural authority, including under making safeguarding personal principals to protect vulnerable people at risk of abuse or neglect. We are committed to using a strengths based/ person centred approach to empower individuals to develop and sustain their capacities for independent living and positive risk taking, in line with the principals of the Care Act

We are looking for people with a positive and enthusiastic approach, with a commitment to working with our customers. You will need to have experience of undertaking care Act assessment, support planning, Mental Capacity Assessments and making best interests decisions where needed and able to work at pace.

You will need to have experience of working within safeguarding policy and procedures, have an understanding of the legal remit of safeguarding under the Care Act, be able to carry out Section 42 enquiries.

There is the opportunity for hybrid working (a mix of home and office based working) during your time with us. However, during your induction there will be a need to work from our head quarters in the centre of Rotherham in order to be set up with IT equipment, undertake essential training and to meet managers and colleagues. There is also an expectation that you will undertake home visits with customers as needed and can travel independently to and around the Rotherham Borough.
