Responsibilities
- To competently identify the nature of an infestation and the most appropriate treatment/ management techniques. This decision should be based on knowledge gained through formal training, legislative restrictions, species specific biology, environmental protection considerations and site data.
- To carry out treatments and management techniques for infestations including traps, culls, deterrents, pesticides and biocides safely and humanely, in line with The British Pest Control Association (BPCA) Code of Practice.
- To survey properties, internally and externally, including drains, and make recommendations for further repair works or structural considerations to overcome future infestations and mitigate the risk of spread between dwellings. To survey and assess requests for pest control support that falls outside of normal contracts. Providing estimate costings and quotations, with technical drawings where applicable
- To carry out proofing work to control and prevent infestations, ensuring materials and techniques used are in line with housing fire safety guidance and Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
- To organise and perform the collection of stray dogs using sound judgement and expertise in line with the safe system of work and legislation. To arrange kennel stay or re-homing where appropriate.
- To assist in the organisation, and perform the execution of pigeon proofing measures, including the cleansing and removing of pigeon matter as and when required.
- To use, prepare, store and transport pesticides in line with COSHH regulations; ensuring that substances hazardous to health are properly controlled. Assist in preparing risk assessments and method statements.
- When allocated a vehicle the post holder is responsible for ensuring that the vehicle is safely and correctly driven, is well maintained and roadworthy, and all plant and materials are safely stored. There is also responsibility for the content of the vehicle at all times while in their possession and to ensure the security of all materials and tools.

| Qualified to either Diploma in Pest Control with the British Pest Control Association (BPCA part 1 and 2) or RSPH Level 2 Certificate in Pest Management or equivalent. | |

About the role:-
Under the supervision of the Business Support Supervisor, this is a supporting role working within the Business Support Team to provide administrative support to the Children, Adults and Health department supporting the professional teams within the North Locality Hub.
The post holder will collate and analyse information for reports and maintain accurate records, interpreting data and drafting content for use by others. They will use strong communication skills to liaise with customers and relay issues and queries promptly where necessary. They will research information within areas of service specialism and act as a main point of contact for customers and colleagues including stakeholders and partnership agencies.
A key function of the role will include the collecting, inputting, maintaining and analysing information held on specialised database. The ability to interpret and produce information from this data will be required. The role supports the financial aspect by using the council’s financial systems to input data, purchasing goods/services, recoding and processing petty cash claims. The role also provides administrative support which will include minute taking at key meetings and word processing.
This role is crucial in providing an excellent, flexible and diverse administrative service ensuring compliance with statutory requirements of the department in a constantly changing environment.
Attention to detail is required for inputting and retrieving information from the specialised databases maintained in the department, for example, searching for personal information relating to a child or young person.
Data produced and inputted provides safeguarding information for the Department for Children, Adults and Health and ensures statutory duties for South Gloucestershire Council are met.

Undertake the role of Principal Designer for the benefit of projects undertaken by Somerset Independence Plus.
Arrange and undertake site visits, meeting with applicants, occupational therapists (OT’s), architects and contractors to determine eligibility for financial assistance.
Ensure project feasibility and scope of work, undertake measured surveys and to give technical advice. To liaise with other officers of the service and outside agencies.
Produce practical specifications, detailed drawings and schedules of work for extensions and other adaptations which contractors can work from to carry out the construction work. Ensuring compliance with Building Regulations, Planning Permission, listed building consent and good practice.
Obtain quotations and estimates from contractors and to scrutinise them and undertake a fair costings exercise for the proposed work.
Ensure that grant and other expenditure is approved and paid in accordance with the Councils’ standing orders.
Collect clients’ financial data and undertake means tests to determine eligibility for a grant.
Qualifications
Essential
• Qualification to HNC/D Level in surveying or relevant professional qualification.
Knowledge/Experience/Skills
Essential
Experience will cover one or more of the following disciplines:
• Working in a residential building surveying related capacity in either a local authority or the private sector.
• Working and processing datasets, databases and can interpret data.
• Knowledge of housing legislation in the areas of applying housing renewal in relation to private sector housing including supervision of building works and means testing.
• Basic housing finance.

This role is to do mould washing. there will be some minor repairs and painting in areas where mould has been present. There may also be some silicone scrape out and replace.

Main responsibilities
Organise and carry out the external and internal painting, decorating and associated repair work including the application of specialist coatings such as in Timonox for the Association’s housing stock, managed properties and external customers in accordance with agreed targets and procedures.
Safely erect and maintain access equipment; reporting any defects to the Team Manager- Painting and ensuring services are compliant with relevant legislation and regulations.
Manage stock/supplies to ensure works are not delayed.
Ensure documentation is completed and returned within agreed timescales.
Work in an efficient manner that delivers value for money; identifying efficiencies, gaps in service delivery and communicating them to line management.
Use information available to identify customer needs and ensure services are tailored to meet those needs.
Co-ordinate the services of other trades and work with colleagues, contractors and partners to ensure a seamless and excellent service to customers.
Understand your responsibilities under Health & Safety legislation; ensuring that all activities are discharged in a safe manner, minimizing risk at all times.
Keep your line manager informed of any issues or barriers to the effective delivery of your service area /maintenance services at the earliest opportunity and contribute to the development and effective operation of the team.

We require a qualified plumber multi - skilled operative with experience in the social housing sector to join or responsive repairs team.
The role is very busy and varied, the majority of repairs work you will be required to do will be completed in 4 hours and will be to make safe and functional.
