ob Purpose
� The post holder will be part of a team that delivers capital and planned maintenance projects to the Councils corporate and listed buildings.
� The preparation and brief, develop design and technical design, and administer the construction contract through to hand over and close out.
� Being responsible for involving our customers, tenant and leaseholder.
Key Accountabilities
� Delivery of the capital and planned maintenance investment projects.
� To prepare feasibility studies, develop new initiatives and concepts and produce detailed specifications, drawings and design solutions for modernisation and improvement projects within the capital investment program that comply with the latest planning, health and safety and building regulations requirements including obtaining all necessary permissions
� Carry out all forms of building surveys including, condition surveys, schedules of condition, dilapidation surveys, and structural surveys including preparation of written reports. Include also for undertaking routine inspections under tenancy arrangements
� Ensure expenditure is managed within the available budget and in accordance with level of delegated authority and the Councils financial regulation.
� All building work is carried out in accordance with the latest Health and Safety in construction design and management Regulations
� Ensure the performance is managed to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction is achieved
� Prepare reliable and detailed programs of works.
� Provide a value for money service which meets customer expectations.
� Services are efficient, continually improving and responsive to our customers and tenants changing needs
� Ensure that key performance indicator targets are met and a high quality customer focused service is delivered to the customer.
� Attend meetings with tenants, leaseholders and building users as requested and provide advice as necessary
� Supervise and provide training/induction to new staff, work placements or agency staff.

Knowledge & Experience
Candidates must have substantial knowledge and experience in the following areas of business and will be required to provide evidence of this:
� Significant experience of delivering capital and planned maintenance
� Experience of E-procurement via tendering or competitive bidding process
� Significant experience of managing budgets
� Detailed knowledge of construction health and safety, and the duties of the 2015 Construction Design and Management (CDM)
� Experience in the use of auto-cad for design drawings
� Detailed knowledge of planning, listed building consent and building regulation legislation
� Detailed knowledge of relevant legislation and good practice
� A proven commitment to partnership working and engaging service users in service development
� Ability to work efficiently and develop new working practices through continuous development
� Ability to meet deadlines
� Detailed knowledge of current Control of Asbestos Regulations/ Legislation
� Building Pathology - identify deterioration, diagnostic and intervention solution.
Qualifications

Herefordshire Council Child Protection & Court Teams
The Childrens Safeguarding and Support teams are based in the centre of Hereford with good transport links to get around the City as needed. The staff are very welcoming and are always keen to offer help and guidance if needed to anyone new to the team.

You will be fully qualified (DipSW, CQSW, CSS or equivalent), with a minimum of 3 years experience in statutory social care. Confident in managing a complex caseload, with strong report and experience of taking the stand and giving oral evidence you will be dedicated to improving the lives of children and families within Herefordshire.

Job description
What will I be doing?
You will be working with children subject to Child In Need and Child Protection Plans, in pre-proceedings and in legal proceedings. You will work with some children in our care whose permanence plan is still being determined. In our well established Family Safeguarding model, you will be able to work alongside adult-focused practitioners to inform assessments and plans, in the specialist areas of substance misuse, domestic abuse, and mental health.
Here in Somerset, our manageable caseloads let you be innovative and creative – undertaking direct work with children and young people to hear their voice and understand their experiences. You will work with parents and the wider family network, with access to Family Group Conferencing, to support them to identify strengths, tackle problems and change interactions and behaviours. With permanent Team Managers, you'll be supported with regular and reflective group and personal supervision.
What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?
You will be passionate about relationship-based social work, proud of your profession, and able to reflect and think creatively about how you can build relationships to make a difference to children and families. You will need to be a qualified social worker registered with Social Work England and have substantial experience working with children and families in social work.

This role will support the delivery of a robust and resilient network, which
provides the natural services required to enable the sustainable growth of the City
and surrounding areas and encompass land, water and marine resources.
The balance of these outcomes will depend on the overall priorities of the Service,
although the post is designed to offer maximum flexibility in the deployment of
staff resources in order to meet evolving business needs and offer staff
development opportunities.
The role holder will have no formal management responsibilities but the post
holder above C grade may be given delegated responsibility for the supervision and
mentoring of more junior staff.

The single homeless service assist single customers who approach the service for housing assistance. They are required to complete a thorough homelessness assessment under relevant legislation, and support the customer into a suitable housing pathway.

| Purpose of the Role: |
- Provide a quality service of housing options, advice and homeless prevention casework to fulfil the authority’s statutory function to prevent homelessness in accordance with Housing Act 1996 (as amended in 2002, 2011, 2016)

Operational Responsibilities
Provide individual and accommodation-based support to single clients accommodated at Cedar Lodge at Stanstead Abbotts or any similar temporary accommodation, for previously homeless or rough sleeping applicants, who will likely have support needs including, mental health, drug and alcohol use, history of criminal/anti-social behaviour, or long-term unemployment.
Carrying out outreach tasks to verify rough sleeper across East Herts Borough and supporting verified rough sleepers to ensure they have an identified housing solution that meets their needs and supporting them to achieve and sustain them.
Listen to and build rapport with the residents to encourage positive engagement with the service.
Develop support plans with agreed achievable outcomes in collaboration with the resident at cedar cottage (single client accommodation), relevant support agencies and council officers, notably the Housing Options Officers
Ensure that the required case files and paperwork are kept up-to-date and regularly monitored and contribute to the provision of timely and accurate information as required to manage the service.
Identify and co-ordinate referrals to internal and external support agencies and support residents to engage with those services.
Provide assistance to residents at Cedar Cottage with their general financial management, including the registering of all benefit applications both personal and housing related.
