Job Purpose

As an appointee Officer, you will safeguard people from financial abusing, supporting them to remain independent and make decisions in their best interest.
Key Responsibilities
1. To undertake the Corporate Director’s delegated role of Appointee as required and directed in connection with management of finances for people who lack capacity to manage their own finances and/or are physically disabled.
2. To apply for and collect people's benefits and income from the department of work and pensions including any related to disability, ensure timely payment of all utility and any other relevant bills including care contributions and payments to providers.
3. To operate and reconcile the bank accounts relating to financial transactions made on behalf of service users and account for all transactions.
4. Complete regular audits to ensure people's money is spent appropriately.
5.To make purchases for people when necessary, making sure financial procedures are adhered to
6. Engage people with complex needs supporting them to share information required to complete claims for benefits and personal independence payments on their behalf.
7. Support people who have an appeal pending to manage on whatever income they are in receipt of and where required make interim arrangements for financial support to prevent escalation to safeguarding.
8. Monitor people's entitlements to ensure correct benefits are being paid.
9. Monitor expenditure in relation to the Appointeeship bank account supporting people with their financial queries and helping people with mental health needs, a history of self-neglect and other complex needs and disabilities budget and spend appropriately.
10. Develop and maintain positive relationships with people using a Strength Based Approach to facilitate them to maintain their independence and make choices that support their wellbeing.
11. Assess individual people's needs and develop and co-ordinate appropriate support that ensures people can maintain their independence and remain in the community delaying the need for long term care and support.

We wish to recruit an Arboricultural Officer to carry out tree inspections / surveys to draft work orders and to respond to customer enquiries and service requests
Role Purpose
To act as one of the Councils Arboricultural Officers surveying public trees in the borough. Haringey are responsible for the management of approximately 40,000 trees.
Main Responsibilities
1. To assist in the delivery of a comprehensive borough wide tree inspection and maintenance programme in partnership with internal stakeholders (i.e. Highways, Homes for Haringey, Parks Service).
2. Undertake surveys and inspections of Council trees and accurately record all data collected on the asset management system (Confirm Arboriculture).
3. Prepare and monitor the completion of tree work schedules in accordance with contract documentation and the following legislation; Highways Act 1980, Traffic Management Act 2005, New Roads and Street Works Act 1991.
4. To promote excellence in customer care through a comprehensive approach, which includes; timely responses to all enquiries and service requests; updating Confirm and keeping all appropriate stakeholders fully informed about planned work programmes and reactive works.
5. Take personal responsibility for decisions made, ensuring integrity, openness and fairness, clearly explaining reasons for decision.

7. Level 3/4 qualification (Arboricultural Association National Qualification Framework).
8. Experience of using Confirm Arboriculture and MapInfo Professional.
