Primary purposeof role
To deliver a quality service, ensuring safe, efficient and effective waste collection
and transportation operations contributing to a greener, cleaner city. Operating
a range of vehicles up to HGV Class 1 and 2 waste vehicles, up to 3.5 tonnes.
Maintaining compliant drivers Certificate of Professional Competence and digital
Tachograph card. Responsible for the Operator (O) licence requirements
including relevant driving regulations and working time rules. Responsibility for
collection crew health, safety and welfare where appropriate, productivity and
quality of work. Responsibility for customer service and upholding the
reputation of Plymouth City Council through the delivery of a frontline critical
service.

Key activities
Driving and operating specialised equipment and HGV in line with training
and/or licencing in a public environment and on permitted sites. Driving must
be courteous and strictly in accordance with the law and any site
requirements. This will often require manoeuvring vehicles in a confined or
restricted space ensuring the safety of all persons. (55%)
Undertaking collection of all waste streams in accordance with relevant
legislation and working within defined schedules, procedures, policies and
safe systems of work. Decision making required for unplanned events and
problem solving to avoid disruption to service with access to a manager as
required (10%)
Taking charge of allocated vehicle and ensuring daily start/end shift
roadworthy checks and defect reporting as well as regular cleansing inside
the cab and externally such as the well. (10%)

We wish to recruit an Arboricultural Officer to carry out tree inspections / surveys to draft work orders and to respond to customer enquiries and service requests
Role Purpose
To act as one of the Councils Arboricultural Officers surveying public trees in the borough. Haringey are responsible for the management of approximately 40,000 trees.
Main Responsibilities
1. To assist in the delivery of a comprehensive borough wide tree inspection and maintenance programme in partnership with internal stakeholders (i.e. Highways, Homes for Haringey, Parks Service).
2. Undertake surveys and inspections of Council trees and accurately record all data collected on the asset management system (Confirm Arboriculture).
3. Prepare and monitor the completion of tree work schedules in accordance with contract documentation and the following legislation; Highways Act 1980, Traffic Management Act 2005, New Roads and Street Works Act 1991.
4. To promote excellence in customer care through a comprehensive approach, which includes; timely responses to all enquiries and service requests; updating Confirm and keeping all appropriate stakeholders fully informed about planned work programmes and reactive works.

Key Responsibilities

4. Complete regular audits to ensure people's money is spent appropriately.

9. Monitor expenditure in relation to the Appointeeship bank account supporting people with their financial queries and helping people with mental health needs, a history of self-neglect and other complex needs and disabilities budget and spend appropriately.
10. Develop and maintain positive relationships with people using a Strength Based Approach to facilitate them to maintain their independence and make choices that support their wellbeing.

Role Purpose
To be responsible for the processing and determination of a varied and complex caseload of planning applications (including major development - economic, inward investment, change of use and residential schemes) across Somerset, through negotiation with developers and their agents, considering third party comments, liaising with members and drafting reports to Planning Committee and for delegated decisions.

Qualifications:

We need a qualified and experienced children’s social work manager to manage one of five social work teams, undertaking Safeguarding & Support work. You will be experienced in child in need and child protection work, PLO pre-proceedings, care proceedings and adoption work.
You will manage a team of social workers and family support workers with input from a Managing Practitioner within our new locality structure. You will be committed to providing the highest quality of supervision and case direction, focussing at all times on improving outcomes for children. You will be organised and a strong communicator and decision-maker. You will work effectively as part of a service management team, committed to embedding good practice, with a focus on relationship based and restorative practice.

Herefordshire Council Safeguarding & Support Teams
The Children’s Safeguarding & Supportteams are based across Herefordshire as we move to a locality-based model. Teams will be located in the North, South and Central areas of the county with good transport links to get around the City as needed. The staff are very welcoming and are always keen to offer help and guidance if needed to anyone new to the team.
There are six teams which are made up of a Team Manager and five social workers each. The locality base for this post is Leominster, with flexibility for working at home within a plan agreed as part of your appointment to the post, however you will be expected to attend some meetings in person and attend the office as agreed each week.
We work alongside families in improving outcomes for their children, we have a restorative approach to social work and this is also evident in the team culture and senior management style as we are available for discussions on complex matters, working together to ensure the right outcomes are achieved for our families
Social Workers work closely with the Council’s Legal Team to complete Court applications, which can be a learning experience for Social Workers but plenty of support is available to help when needed. We have Case Progression Officers who support the teams in ensuring we meet court timescales and contribute to identifying training that may be required to ensure that our staff feel equipped & supported.
Regular supervision takes place each month and you will have supervision with a Service Manager , who is available on a daily basis, for both formal and informal supervision sessions and case discussions.
