The Violence Reduction Coordinator will coordinate the delivery of interventions tackling serious crime alongside the work of the local community and partner agencies - including the Metropolitan Police, local authorities, youth services, health services, VCS, and criminal justice agencies in line with Newham’s Violence Reduction Plan and MOPAC’s Violence Reduction Unit framework. This work will be underpinned by evidence and intelligence–driven approaches to help identify the underlying risk factors that can lead to violence, diagnose the problem and then assist in the development and the delivery of partnership plans and interventions to tackle them.
KNOWLEDGE:
Good understanding of factors leading to and involved in violence and vulnerability related crime and influencing factors affecting offending and victimisation.
Working knowledge of Crime and Disorder Act (1998) and other relevant legislation.
Good working knowledge of current issues in criminal justice related to VAWG agenda, including domestic abuse and other harmful practices.
Good working knowledge of current issues in criminal justice related to Gang and knife related crime, serious violence including youth violence, links of girls and gangs, exploitation and county lines.
Working knowledge of legislation related to sharing and disclosure of information.
Working knowledge of outcome based performance management.
Educated to degree level or appropriate relevant experience.
EXPERIENCE:
Proven experience of developing multi-agency partnerships to deliver action plans, initiatives and strategies.
Experience of working on VAWG (specifically domestic abuse) agenda and roles and responsibilities of various agencies involved in responding to it.
Experience of working on gang and knife crime agendas and the roles and responsibilities of various agencies involved in responding to it.
Experience of commissioning and performance monitoring for effective contract management.
Supporting and developing multi-agency protocols and strategies.
Development and delivery experience of violence and vulnerability strategy and work programmes
Experience of leading and governing partnership programme delivery
Experience of managing budgets including grant allocations.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Proven management and/or supervision experience and ability to support senior management to develop a team.
Proven ability work on own initiative and particularly use your initiative to resolve issues whilst keeping management fully informed of progress and seeking guidance when needed.

Main Purpose of the Job/Key Objectives:
To be part of the Network Management Team & assist the Network Traffic Manager in the delivery of LBH’s Statutory Network Management Duty under the Traffic Management Act 2004, (TMA 2004) in an effective and efficient manner to ensure continuous improvement in reducing congestion on Havering’s road networks, and that of adjoining authorities in accordance with the Council’s Network Management Duty under the TMA 2004.
Job Context:

Looked After Children Team / Children in Care
This is a position of a non-caseholding Senior Social Worker, supporting the Team Manager within LAC/CiC.
Driving license and appropriate means of travel insured for business purposes is required.
About the role
Working in a team in either Access and Response Team, Social Care Long Term, or Corporate Parenting, under the guidance of the Team Manager the post holder will hold a child care case-load where complex and sensitive issues are at stake, will lead and supervise a small team, and will deputise for the Team Manager when required, with support and guidance from other Team Managers. It is expected that this will usually be for a maximum of four weeks at any one time.
Working in a multi-agency context, the post holder will ensure vulnerable children and young people are identified, protected and supported to achieve positive outcomes through the provision of well planned, integrated and coordinated services.
The post holder will promote effective partnerships with those providing preventative and/or specialist services in the public, private, community and voluntary sectors as well as with children young people and their families to achieve the best possible outcomes.
The post holder may also be involved in the recruitment and development of staff and this may include volunteers/partners/foster carers etc.
The post holder may also undertake the role of Practice Educator in terms of assessing, developing and mentoring student and newly qualified Social Workers (usually one to two per year).
The post holder will use a significant degree of professional expertise, together with knowledge of the extensive statutory framework that governs the duties and processes and timescales in relation to this area of work.

- You will hold a degree or equivalent professional qualification with appropriate professional registration. You will have substantial post qualification experience within a similar service area.

The Workforce Development Service is responsible for ensuring that members of the children’s workforce have the right training, qualifications and on-going professional development to provide the high quality services. The Workforce Development Service is made up of the following teams: learning and development (L&D) team, Wellbeing and Employee Engagement (WaEE) team and People and Payroll (PP) team. Our Workforce development service operates across both of our operational areas (Richmond and Kingston and Windsor and Maidenhead local authorities).
The L&D team has four strands 1) training delivery 2) Events and centre management 3) Apprenticeship delivery (W2W) and 4) team business management. Business Management is a new addition to the service and will manage each function associated with the business management of Workforce Development. This will include supporting our managers with their data and finance needs whilst providing business management support to the Way2Work team through recruitment and engagement with employers. The service is focussed on delivering the best outcomes for our learners in whichever capacity they interact with us. In this role the post holder will work from one of our offices and from home, in line with our Future Space strategy.
The Exams Administrative Assistant is responsible for a number of the administrative support functions for the apprenticeship programme. The role will work with the Business Manager and the Lead Trainer Assessor to administer the whole apprenticeship lifecycle. This will include working with colleagues in the team to coordinate our processes for the registration, invigilation and certification of all learner exams as well as manage contracting arrangements with employers and to liaise with the Trainer Assessors to ensure the learner is inducted on to their programme of learning. The postholder will be the single point of contact for apprenticeship related questions. This role is pivotal in making sure the apprenticeship support offer is managed in an effective and efficient manner.
In addition the post holder will have excellent verbal skills and will be able to support projects and initiate activities in relation to L&D, enabling managers, employees and partners to receive a competent and timely service.
Skills and experience
- Experience of working in a business support capacity, providing a wide range of administrative support.
- Good customer service skills - experience of interacting with internal and external customers, including routine enquiries from members of the public, which could be face to face, receiving and responding to incoming communication
- Able to react tactfully and sympathetically to requests from customers and to remain calm under pressure.
