- To provide advice and guidance to managers and employees on the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS), Teachers’ Pensions and Peoples Pension schemes. Liaising with representatives of those schemes.
- To undertake payroll related pension administration, ensuring correct application, accuracy and timescales are met for internal and external clients. Ensuring that work is completed within statutory and service level agreements deadlines.
- To maintain a thorough knowledge of all the pensions schemes covering all employees and external clients of the Council. Having a correct understanding and application of the LGPS, Teachers Pensions, Peoples Pension Schemes and /Statutory Schemes/Legislation/Council Policies and Procedures/Conditions of Service/Discretions and other relevant regulations/ guidance as they affect payroll related pensions administration.
- To Liaise with the team leader – payroll/systems to ensure all guidance relating to the LGPS, Teachers & Peoples Pensions Scheme are conveyed to the relevant HR & OD team members
- To contribute to the development of staff within the Employment Services team with regard to pensions knowledge. To provide assistance to and comply with requests from internal and external auditors. To liaise with the supplier of HR & Payroll software with regards to legislative changes, pension related system queries and any subsequent required system updates.
- To ensure that any identified deficiencies and/or scope for improvement in pension administration and compliance are progressed at the earliest opportunity, including the use of the HR/Payroll system and the Council’s infonet and internet facilities.
- To produce, populate and reconcile all pension returns to the multiple scheme providers within the deadlines set for each scheme. To ensure that all pensions related correspondence and queries are dealt with in a timely manner.

JOB PURPOSE
1.1 The Post Holder will be responsible to the Assistant District Maintenance Officer for day to day maintenance, repair works and new build construction of Flintshire housing stock and other Council-owned properties.
2.0 PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
2.1 To carry out all aspects of plumbing and related work including domestic, water service systems, rainwater pipes, soil stacks, sanitary fittings and all associated works, tiling, minor plastering work.
2.2 To be able to work from detailed specifications and drawings.
2.3 To collect orders and instruction, complete documentation such as works orders and timesheets, and return completed documentation to Assistant District Maintenance Officer on a daily basis.
2.4 To work alone, or with trades, carry out work at council-owned properties to provide a quality customer driven service to set standards to our customers.
2.5 To identify, be responsible and accountable for the ordering, collection, safe storage and use of materials.
2.6 To respond to emergency needs such as entering properties for emergency services, make safe any damage as required.
2.7 To report any defects/damage of tools, plant or vehicles to the Assistant District Maintenance Officer.
2.8 To ensure full compliance with all safety procedures and requirements of statutory legislation and report all Health and Safety issues to the Assistant District Maintenance Officer, or supervising officer, immediately.
2.9 To use, maintain and keep clean any allocated transport, tools and plant, protective workwear, mobile telephones and any other equipment allocated to employee within Corporate and Departmental procedures.
2.10 To carry out occasional specialised work, such as asbestos removal, in accordance with safe working practices.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
6.1 Must be apprentice trained and time served and/or hold an appropriate craft qualification, minimum City and Guilds or NVQ Level 3.
6.2 Experience of assessing/inspecting plumbing works and undertaking fault finding and diagnostic work.
6.3 Experience of, and ability to use, the required portable power tools.
6.4 Experience of working as an electrician in a repair/maintenance and contracting environment.
6.5 Knowledge, and experience, of working within all Health and Safety Legislation relevant to the construction industry.
6.6 Experience of working on own initiative and within a team.
6.7 Able to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people.

Fleet Services provides a fleet management and maintenance service for our whole organisation. Using your transport management qualification, along with your broad experience and initiative to work across operational boundaries, you’ll develop systems that will control the fleet and ensure that vehicles are maintained in accordance with good practice and transport legislation
The Postholder should hold a degree and be a Chartered Member of a recognised Transport related institute, or with demonstrable experience in the provision and delivery of Fleet Management and Maintenance at a management level, preferably in direct service provision, who has the ability to demonstrate and use well developed leadership, managerial, financial aptitudes. A recognised qualification in Transport Operation and Law, holding as a minimum the Transport Manager’s Certificate of Professional Competence in Transport Operations.
Requires knowledge and experience of handling complaints and resolution of service failures using tact and diplomacy. Must be able to demonstrate and use well developed enthusiastic leadership, managerial, financial and interpersonal skills.
Must have the following:
