Interim cover is required for the role of PA to the Director of Legal and Governance Services. This is a busy and demanding role which requires extensive diary and inbox management. The postholder must have advanced skills in computer applications preferably in using G Suite Applications but if not then must have advanced experience in the use of Microsoft word, Outlook and powerpoint in order to get to grips with using Google Docs, Gmail and Google Sheets quickly. Duties and Responsibilities
1 . To ensure the efficient and effective provision of high quality legal secretarial services to all fee-earners in Legal Services.

  1. To organise the work of the Support Services Team so as to maximise efficiency, maintain cover at all times and provide a rapid responsive service to fee earners.
  2. To manage secretarial staff within a performance management framework, setting and monitoring targets and workplans.
  3. To be responsible for identifying training needs for secretarial staff and training to meet those needs.

PURPOSE OF POST:
To assist in the provision of a comprehensive legal service to the Council, its Executive, Committees and Sub-Committees, and to Departments.

We are looking for a children’s Occupational Therapist to join our team in providing a high standard of Occupational Therapy service to children and young people in Redbridge. You will be required to independently manage a caseload of children between the ages of 0 – 18yrs, including those presenting with complex needs and disabilities. You will be working in the context of a multi-disciplinary team in school settings and in The Grove, where our Child Development Centre is co-located with CAMHS. You will have a mixed caseloads of working in mainstream and designated special schools and will be responsible to assess and advice on requirements as part of the EHC process. You will provide advice, treatment and management in order to address the children and family’s needs, based on sound clinical reasoning. You will also support in the development of training packages to school staff / parents / other professionals as required, in order for them to identify concerns regarding the child /young person’s needs and implement therapy advice effectively. You will be joining an integrated OT and Physiotherapy team and will receive monthly supervision and CPD sessions.

Purpose of the Job:

The post holder is responsible for all aspects of the SA process including requests, re-assessments, amendments, and complex placement decisions within statutory timescales.

The Post holder must work collaboratively and cooperatively with young people and families or carers of children and young people undergoing SA or who have EHC plans.

This person will be expected to work across all ages and phases of education.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  1. To work collaboratively and cooperatively with young people and the parents or carers of children and young people undergoing SA and who have EHC plans from assessment through to decision to issue or decline to issue. The post holder must ensure that families are involved with the process and kept informed about the process and that the child or young person is central to any decision made about them.
  2. To conduct the SA process from initiation to issue of final plan within the statutory timescales. This means the post holder will need to write the EHC plan using the information gathered as part of the assessment and work collaboratively with wider professional agencies to ensure the outcomes specified in the Plan are identified and delivered and support the Placements officer to ensure appropriate placement is named.
  3. To provide detailed information to key decision making panels, SENDT and other appeals (including ISP) in relation to the young person’s proposed placement, costs (including travel costs) and any other matters pertaining to placement and provision, as well as contribute to the LA's responses to tribunal appeals and complaints, including those from councillors, as well as parents and schools.
  4. Attend, initiate and/or organise meetings ensuring key stakeholder attendance in relation to the Statutory Assessment process, re-assessments, or amendments following Annual Review.
  5. To know and be able to explain to others, specifically the families/carers of children and young people and schools how to navigate the Local Offer website and locate relevant information
  6. To robustly maintain LA databases including Synergy on a ‘live’ basis, ensuring all records are kept up to date and accurate.

Regarding the finance aspect, the role will include providing junior support to finance management processes such as working papers providing forecasting positions etc.; the finance admin will require taking a support role in the chasing of queries arising from regular purchase order and transaction listing reporting, keeping tabs of invoicing, day-to-day cash receipt functions and running regular returned payment reports, reviewing reconciliation queries and similar types of tasks. They will also be key in supporting the services Planning Performance Agreements function supporting the finance and analysis of time reporting for this side of the business.
In relation to HR, they will need to help officers navigate the system and at times pick up recruitment related tasks around administration to support recruitment processes and monitoring training and other key HR related functions. Procurement related tasks will again include helping officers navigate systems and supporting gathering information/research/analysis for smaller value requirements.
They will need to be good with systems and will need to use the Uniform planning application system to pull out reports, check screens for status and payments etc
The successful candidate will also be able to take advantage of the opportunity to be involved in the team’s digital programme which includes the Reducing Invalid Planning Applications project which Lambeth is leading. The successful candidate must have excellent writing ability, strong communications skills as well as MS Outlook, Word and Excel skills. SharePoint knowledge would be a bonus. Qualifications
A relevant degree, professional qualification or equivalent experience.(HCC) Degree level or equivalent e.g. NVQ level 4 &/or relevant experience


Experience
Able to demonstrate a track record of, and a genuine enthusiasm for, service development, research and analysis, performance review, and improving business processes and delivery.
Experience of working on projects that form part of a wider programme of change.
Experience of researching, collating and analysing information from a wide variety of technical and non-technical sources

We are seeking to recruit Associate Educational Psychologists across Essex. We have a base in Harlow, Braintree, Colchester and Basildon. The role will involve writing Statutory Psychological advice as part of an EHCNA.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

• British Psychological Society (BPS) recognised first degree in psychology.
• A Doctorate or Master’s degree in Educational Psychology, and eligibility for chartered status within the British Psychological Society.
• HCPC registration essential.
• Recent, relevant in-service professional development.
• Detailed understanding and awareness of relevant SEN legislation.
• Experience of working with children and young people with SEN/Disability, and detailed knowledge of research informed interventions and approaches that prevent and meet SEN.

Please note, this is an ‘as and when’ position and the rate for this role is £450 per day

This position will initially, in line with current government guidance, be based from home, with an expectation of being home based for the foreseeable future. However, if / when government guidelines change the role may then revert to being office based, whilst retaining some flexible working options.
